Last night we had our 1st tournament game against a far more experienced team and we were getting our butts handed to us. The other team, even when they were at 10 to zero took pot runs, I guess it was necessary to ground us down in the other coaches eyes even though it was obvious we were a team of all newbies.
Anyhow I digress, my son was in right field, all 3 balls that came his way he fielded great, then he fielded 2 balls in his teammates area because they weren’t paying attention.(It was getting close to 9pm, heck when your a second grader it gets hard to stay awake then) My son has been having issues with hitting from a pitching machine, we practice every day at the ball league place, he’s been working on bunting(a totally new thing for him) but last night on the second pitch he hit, a nice hard hit.
He ran with all his might, alas the more experienced teams infield(who some of them looked like they were big enough to be playing farm, and not pups) got him out, but the look on his face when he came off the field was of pure joy, his chest was sticking out with pride and he did a little dance in the dugout.
I was so happy for him, he’s been beating himself up with his issue of hitting with a pitching machine, but last night he saw he could do it, I’m hoping tonight he hits one too, so I’ll be praying to the baseball Gods to be kind and let him hit one tonight too.
I did workout yesterday, chest/tris, cardio
20min HITT on rbike
circuits
db flat bench press: 28×6,33×6, 38×6
w/incline pushups: 10×3
db hammer press: 20×6, 23×6, 28×6
w/decline pushups: 10×3
flat db flys: 23×6, 28×6, 33×6
w/manly(hehe) pushups: 10×3
20min ss cardio on my treadmill.
Today will be legs.
Tonight we have karate and a baseball game(if the rain stays away). The temp last night was high 50s, my shoulder is not liking going from 70s to 50 degree weather, hopefully it warms up by Saturday, which will be our last ball game of the year, and Sunday we sign up for flag football, Monday is swim lessons time.
My kiddo swims like a fish, now to get him use to the idea he will not belly slap everytime he goes off the diving board if he listens to Mom and goes feet first. Last year he hit his belly on the water and refused to try again after that.

So this week has been interesting. Poor kiddo had to go to the doctor on Monday for an abscess and get it popped and on Tuesday he got his adenoids removed. Monday I did my cardio: 20min hard intervals, 2min hard, 1min recovery
Tuesday: no workout
Wednesday: decided to do something different this week to shake things up, I worked legs, but only bodyweight, but 50 reps for 3 sets of 4 different exercises, can you say: burn? With some ss cardio in between:
10min on treadmill, 10min on ellpictical, 10min on rbike, finished with 15min on treadmill
squats feet together:bwx50×3
lunges: bwx50×3
sumo squats: bwx50×3
calf raises: bwx50×3
Later I did 20min hard intervals on treadmill, hard run for 2min, 1min recovery
Today I did back, but only 35 reps per set, my shoulder would give out and be useless for chest day tommorow if I did 50 with all this darn rain.
Cardio in between, broken into 10min segments, all on treadmill for 40minutes
supine pullups: bwx35×3
T’s on floor: bwx35×3
supine chinups: bwx35×3
back ext off of ab bench: bwx35×3
Later I did 20min hard intervals on rbike, 2min hard, 1min recovery
Rainy here, I miss the nice weather. My kiddo seems to be doing ok, his throat hurts when he swallows. He was too cute after taking some meds to relax him prior to surgery, it was like he was stoned, I couldn’t help but laugh at him, which he found funny.

For me its my legs. They can move weight that my upper body just can’t handle and probably never will. I seriously doubt I’ll be ever to ever move 450lbs with my upper body, but I can with my legs on a leg press.
Now they’re not my favorite looking part because I’m a pear. When I’m lazy and have a big old "what’s the use party" and eat like a piggy then they along with my hips, and ass get the fat. Nobody’s fault but my own, no excuses, no "Oh I’ve been sick, oh I’m anemic right now, heck I didn’t even use "oh I’m having chemotherapy" as an excuse", no if they get flabby it just has to do with my conviction and will power.
I worked them yesterday and they’re thanking me today by having DOMS. But they like that feeling they really do. Secretly they long to look like my upper body, no fat, muscle that shows no problem so the more I abuse them the happier they are.
Yesterdays leg workout:
5min stretching(I have this image of me standing and raising one leg perfectly up by my side like the Juno chick does in The Descent, and I will get there eventually.)
circuits
sumo squats
110×8x3
w/front squats(I always forget about these, then I have to relearn bar and hand position and have to do a lighter weight until I get the hang of them again)
60×8x3
squats feet together
90×8x3
w/standing cable kickbacks
40×8x3
smith lunges focus on front leg
70×8x3
w/calf raises
70×15x3
knee ext
90×8x3
hamstring curls
70×8x3
5min stretching
Today will be 30min of HIIT on my ellpictical.
Yesterday I took my little one to an dino egg hunt. Thankfully there were no insane parents like I’ve seen at other ones, you know running over the little ones to help their kiddos get eggs. Today is his 1st pitching machine game, hopefully it goes well, he tends to beat himself up if he doesn’t hit the ball when the machine throws it at him.
High of 51, game is at 5pm, I see several layers of clothes in our future.

In fact she fell several times yesterday trying to roller skate. LOL. Why was I trying to roller skate when the other 2x in my life I tried I fell like crazy?? Because my son has never tried it and I didn’t want to be one of those parents who sat on the sidelines telling him "get up, it can’t hurt that bad"
So I braved it, got some roller skates on. Now at this roller rink all the superfast skaters skate on the outside and all us who have no idea how to stand on skates or who can barely handle moving once we stand skate in the middle.
Do you see the problem?? I who was attempting my 3rd time ever rollerskating had to play frogger. You know that old game where the frog tries to make it across the road without being squished. Well I was the frog, which is quite appropriate since my nickname in school was Kermit the Frog.
I shook inwardly in terror at teens whizzing by. I made it and attempted moving around in an oval. I literaly got stuck in one spot, unable to move for I’d say over a minute. The first time I fell I made the classic mistake of putting my hand behind me. My right palm screamed at me. Ok self I said do not do that again.
I’d say I went an hour without falling then I got cocky. I’m getting the hang of this, woohoo. Wham on my right glute/ham/hip area(at least I didn’t try to catch myself) Well tears sprang to my eyes because the pain was so bad.
Dusted myself off and gave myself a pep talk and skated to the railing and got my composure. Can’t have my son see his Mom crying like a little kid, but damn it hurt then and it hurts 2x as bad today.
Got my nerve back up, went and skated another hour before I fell again, this time just to keep my glute/ham area balanced I fell on the left side, not on purpose, that’s how it worked out, thankfully it barely hurt or maybe it did and I didn’t notice because I’d been sucking up the pain from the previous fall.
So today I can barely walk without pain in the glute/ham area. They are a lovely deep purple. My right palm is purple from the thumb up to almost the middle finger, and I’m a righty. NO workout today, gave my war wounds some rest but I am working out tommorow but it might be light weights if my right hand gives me fits, and guess what tommorow is leg day!
We’ll see how I fair thru it. Of course my son fell numerous times, but he had fun and has no fear of trying again, so I did what I set out to do.

I can not get that song out of my head, and its a good idea if you think about it. If stress is getting to you just dance around like a loon in your living room, your kids will either love it or think you’ve gone off the deep end. My son and I dance in the car, I wonder if people see us shaking our upper bodies and think we are having some kind of fit?
Oh well, maybe then they’ll stay out of my way.
So my legs are ok today, now tommorow i expect soreness out the wazzoo, it usually takes me 2 days to get DOMS and I worked them uber hard yesterday. Its beautiful here, almost 70 but supposedly going to be in the 40s this weekend. We found a pitching machine for a reasonable price, my son is freaking out about how fast they seem to come out, and it freaks me out too. I could see, if you didn’t like someone and you had a high quality pitching machine, speeding it up and aiming for their face and killing them.
Today was chest day and I had some pbs!

5min stretching
20min sprint intervals on treadmill
15min ss cardio on rbike.
I got a baseball glove for the first time in my life and we tried it out yesterday, I think I"m a freak of nature, my left hand is stronger even though I’m right handed, and I want to catch right handed, my right hand has better control, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it.
Also tried the pitching machine and I suck at hitting, I mean suck, thankfully my son takes after my husband and not I when it comes to hitting.

I was looking at a site and was amazed that the lovely lady’s muscles had been airbrushed out to make her just look skinny. Why? Because so many people think real women don’t have muscles and that lifting heavy makes you manly. BAH!
Freaking out. That was me today. My son had his first invite to go to dinner with a classmate/teammate and I’m sitting here freaking out. I know both parents, I’ve known them thru kindergarten, now 1st grade, wrestling and cubscouts, but I’m so nervous, its crazy.
Anyhow I worked it today. What’s it? my Body, it was leg day so no extra bw exercises for legs but I killed my abs. I beat on Bob too, though it seems Kimberly and Bob have a relationship on the side I’m finding out about. ROFL
wu beating on Bob for 5minutes, tommorow will be 10 for his cheating on me

Tommorow is chest day, going to do lots of pushups, nothing like the amount Shannon did but still a good deal of them. Today I filled my candy machines except for 2 because i had to go to the candy store and buy more supplies and I was out of the mood then, I’ll do them tommorow.
Worked on this cool program for my hubby, at least I like it, its called My Ultimate Organizer, he’s going to try it tonight. Its good for me to help him out with his work, helps me remember how to do spreadsheets.
I’m thinking when the kiddo starts a new school year I’m going to apply at the YMCA to be a trainer and get some money back on my certs. I really like helping people feel better about themselves if you’d asked me when I got my accounting degree if I’d ever, ever think about being a personal trainer I’d laughed at you. Back then I was a cardio bunny only no real weights until about 6 years ago and even then nothing heavy until like 3 years ago.
Real women have muscles
