There is nothing like seeing your child proud
Last night we had our 1st tournament game against a far more experienced team and we were getting our butts handed to us. The other team, even when they were at 10 to zero took pot runs, I guess it was necessary to ground us down in the other coaches eyes even though it was obvious we were a team of all newbies.
Anyhow I digress, my son was in right field, all 3 balls that came his way he fielded great, then he fielded 2 balls in his teammates area because they weren’t paying attention.(It was getting close to 9pm, heck when your a second grader it gets hard to stay awake then) My son has been having issues with hitting from a pitching machine, we practice every day at the ball league place, he’s been working on bunting(a totally new thing for him) but last night on the second pitch he hit, a nice hard hit.
He ran with all his might, alas the more experienced teams infield(who some of them looked like they were big enough to be playing farm, and not pups) got him out, but the look on his face when he came off the field was of pure joy, his chest was sticking out with pride and he did a little dance in the dugout.
I was so happy for him, he’s been beating himself up with his issue of hitting with a pitching machine, but last night he saw he could do it, I’m hoping tonight he hits one too, so I’ll be praying to the baseball Gods to be kind and let him hit one tonight too.
I did workout yesterday, chest/tris, cardio
20min HITT on rbike
circuits
db flat bench press: 28×6,33×6, 38×6
w/incline pushups: 10×3
db hammer press: 20×6, 23×6, 28×6
w/decline pushups: 10×3
flat db flys: 23×6, 28×6, 33×6
w/manly(hehe) pushups: 10×3
20min ss cardio on my treadmill.
Today will be legs.
Tonight we have karate and a baseball game(if the rain stays away). The temp last night was high 50s, my shoulder is not liking going from 70s to 50 degree weather, hopefully it warms up by Saturday, which will be our last ball game of the year, and Sunday we sign up for flag football, Monday is swim lessons time.
My kiddo swims like a fish, now to get him use to the idea he will not belly slap everytime he goes off the diving board if he listens to Mom and goes feet first. Last year he hit his belly on the water and refused to try again after that.
