What’s holding you back?
I’m sure most of us could come up with an excuse; "I’m busy. It takes time away from my family. I don’t feel well. I’m tired. I look stupid working out, people make fun of me. I’ll never be skinny."
Excuses that all say what’s holding you back is: YOU. No one else. Yes once in a while you’ll be sick but that’s no excuse to not get back to working out when you feel better. Yes you’re busy, but you know what? So is everyone else, so are those people who you look at and say to yourself "They’ve always looked like that"
Now some of them might have, but 9 times out of 10 they haven’t, they have made time for themselves. Yes it cuts into family time, but you’ll feel better, in turn you’ll be a better significant other, spouse, Mother, Father, son, daughter, you name it. Why will you be better? Because you took care of yourself, you’re making yourself healthy so you’ll always be there for your family.
As for looking stupid when working out, trust me no one is judging you if they are serious about their workouts and everyone starts somewhere. I know when I started lifting weights I thought I was the bomb using 8lb dumbbells, now I can move 33lb dumbbells no problem. We are start out somewhere, no one is instantly strong, it takes time to build muscle.
As for being skinny? Who wants to be that? I want to be firm, with only a slight jiggle in the right areas. Skinny brings to mind bony, and I want muscles not to be a skelton.

You are so right K, we always find time for the things we REALLY want and whats important to us. Have to want it. Good shoulder and back work, enjoy the beautiful day.

As always, great volume of work on the muscle group. Boy, lots of folks are in a philosophical or pensive mood this week.

What’s holding me back? Nothing, especially not ME.
Nice workout, by the way.

Nice job on the workout today! *clap*
You’re right on what’s holding us back. Let me add addictions to that. It’s still US, but we’re letting ourselves get hooked on other things rather than the one thing that’ll add great life and happiness value - our health!

Kermane… great post! And so true! However, if someone told me I looked stupid in the gym, I would probably pull a KimPossible on them! lmao

Yep, if you want something badly enough, a person will make time for it.

I watched a mom/daughter combo go through a personal training session last night. The daughter was goofy and giggly all the way through (actually it was damn annoying).
I applauded their personal trainer on her patience. But as the personal trainer pointed out to me, at least they WERE exercising now. Now if that kinda goofy looking and behaving can workout… then anyone can!

If looking stupid stopped me from working out I would have been in trouble this morning…my first day doing yoga in the p90x series…..I fell over twice on something called a warrior pose……I CERTAINLY DIDN’T FEEL LIKE A WARRIOR PICKING MYSELF UP OFF THE FLOOR!!!!!!! ha ha

NO excuses! Take no prisoners!
King you’ll get better at yoga and you’ll be nice and flexible by the end of the program.

Motivation and determination are why you’re moving those bigger weights and continuing to build your muscles.
