competition update
Alright so, rather than telling everyone the story 1200 times, i’m just going to write a blog and direct everyone here.
I left for Pittsburgh Thursday, got there and got all checked in for the show. We relaxed the rest of the night. Then Friday, I did a little warndering aroiund pittsburgh with my boyfriend (we did a little shopping) and then i had to get all painted up by my trainer at her hotel, so we headed there around 6:00. After getting all painted up, we went to Lonestar Steakhouse and got me a 6oz sirloin!! YUM. it was awesome.
On to Saturday…. we woke up bright and early at 5 a.m. to put one last coat of Protan on me. (my boyfriend did it, bless him). after that was done, my lovely boyfriend, who i owe so much to for helping me out so much this weekend, ran to the hotel restaurant and got me my special carb up breakfast (1 pancake w/ syrup + 2 pieces of bacon!) YUMMY! so as he was doing that I was getting all ready, make up hair etc, last min. gathering of everything I needed. We headed out the door for my mandatory meeting at 7:30. Got there in time for it. the meeting was short and sweet…and things began at 9:00 starting with teen and collegiate bodybuolding then womens bodybuilding. which seemed like it was taking forever. so i was out relaxing in the lobby…waiting for my turn.
this is where things get crappy. my trainer kept checking in the pump up room to get and estimate of how much time we had till i’d get to go on stage..and every time she checked…he’d say a different amount of time. at first it was 1 1/2 hours, then she went back and he said another 1 1/2 hours. etc and it kept going on like that. but time kept adding up. so finally she told me to start getting ready.. i did. she came in and it was then that we realized that the last of the womens bodybuilders were finishing up. and that teen and collegiate bikini were up before me (which apparently they flew thourgh..there wernt many competitors in those 2 classes). So i rushed to get myself together, went to the pump up room and found out that they had already called the line up for collegiate figure(my class). my trainerr tells me to wait a second while she goes to find out whats going on…comes back and tells me its too late. Collegiate figure had already gone up on stage.
SOOOO…you can imagine the disbelief and horror of realizing that you missed your chance. 4 months of hard work…to miss your time on stage. sweet, huh?
my trainer strated frantically running around talking to people trying to work something out. she ended up getting them to allow me to walk out on the stage during the night show, do some quarters and then walk off…thats it. I couldn’t be judged, I could only make my apperance and show them that I didn’t do all that work for nothing. at first i didn’t want to do it at all. i was crying and i had no idea how i was going to walk out there, put on my best fake smile and do my poses correctly. But after recollecting myself i ended up doing it, and i’m happy that i did. It was worth it. sad thing is…i probably could have placed very well in my division..i came in looking great!
So i basically had the longest weekend of my life. After the night show and my 5 second appearance on stage, we went back to the hotel. Turns out my boyfriend had been planning to suprise me with a pretty new outfit that he picked out himself!! Its this beautiful black dress from Nordstrom, and he got me shoes to match, plus some pretty undies. It totally made my night and my day, even though it turned out to be a very crappy day. hes amazing!
so we went out to eat at this awesome restaurant called Grand Concourse. I ate crab stuffed shrimp, with rice pilaf and a ****ton of rolls. I made myself feel sick basically. lol.
Then yesterday on the way home we went to Max and Ermas, I got a burger that had the name "Garbage Burger" so you can imagine what that did to my stomach. and THEN my boyfriendfs siter cooked us a HUGE meal…and thats where it went downhill for my tummy. lol she is such an amazing cook, i couldnt stop myself. I felt HORRIBLE last night and I’m still feeling the effects this morning. jeez…whoda thunk it eh? LOL.
so whats next?….
i’m considering doing a show in October now. I am out for a vengance, gdammit! i want and deserve my time! BUT i need to talk to my trainer about it…to see if its possible and to see if i’ll come in looking as good as i did for this show. cuz if i wont…then i’m not going to do this october show. it wouldnt be worth it.
So basically, this whole experience…i learned A LOT!!! it isnt gonna get me down. i’m going to keep pushing forward..and if i dont do this show in October i will be making some awesome gains till i decide to compete again (which would prolly be in the spring of 2010).
i think i covereed it all…. thanks for reading if you made it through this lengthy one!

yeah they were making call outs, BUT since this was such a big show, they wern’t announcing it over a speaker (it was in a big hotel) they were just yelling it out in the pump up room. and i wasnt back there when they did it. crappy, yes.

OMG I cant believe what happened!! :O I feel so bad for you! All of that hard work and you didnt get to compete. I am really glad that you got to go up on stage and do some turns though. That was the least you deserve. How does your trainer feel about everything?
What your bf did was so SWEET. You are such a lucky gal
Give em hell in your next comp. You looked (do look) AMAZING and no doubt would have placed very well!
