a little update, & a NEW SHOW..

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

Alright so, here’s the nitty gritty:

When I decided to do the show on June 6th, there wasnt a venue set up yet. which I thought was odd so I emailed the promoter a month and a half ago and got nothing back from him, so I just ended up emailing the head of the USBF org. He told me that he talked to the promoter and he said that he was going to have a venue nailed down by the end of the month (March). Well needless to say, there still isnt a venue, the promoter doesn’t return my emails nor does he return the USBF presidents phone calls/emails. COOL, huh? So i was told that It will probably be taken off of their list of shows.

I’m not going to mess around, so I’m going to do a different show. I’m almost 100% on this one, I just need to smooth out a few details, find some stuff out. Anyway its the 2009 GNC NPC Teen, Collegiate and Masters National Championships, on July 18th. Its a bigger show, but I’d be competing against people all my age (the collegiate category). Thats a little advantage, rather than competing against someone that could have a lot more experience/mature muscle.

Sooo. if i do this show..which I’m hoping to and am still prepping for. I’ll be 12 weeks out this weekend (the 26th).

Progress pics next week :)

a little motivation for myself…and for anyone else who may read this!

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

We all need a little motivation now and then, right? Well, I’m going to compile a few quotes, comments from others etc etc, that help motivate me.

I have borrowed these from other people, not gonna lie! I can’t resist it when its such a great one!

The will to win is nothing without the will to prepare

The reason most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want most for what they want at the moment.
(those two i took from thekittygato) thanks Kat

Cheat on your diet once, you know it. Cheat on your diet twice, the judges know it. Cheat on your diet thrice, everyone knows it.
(this one is from a blog that i read, Kim (urbanmommy) it’s great, she’s very motivational!

High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.

There’s just a few that I’ve come across. Comments from others, like how much I’ve changed in the past few weeks (family, my trainer etc etc.) is awesome! theres nothing better than a little confidence boost!

I’ll add more to this list I’m sure. thats just a few for now :)

contest prep, eating and easter

Friday, April 10th, 2009

Well, I’ve been contemplating writing a new post (since I haven’t since last September). That post was all about how I went to my first bodybuilding show, and how seeing it sealed the deal for me to do a competition of my own!

Here I am, prepping for my first show! Its been 4 weeks on the prep and things are going well. I’ve lost a total of 10lbs so far and have about anoth 10 to go…in 2 months! it will be done. I think its definietly to change up my diet though, as I have been leveled out at 128 for a few days now.

I have a much greater appreciation for people who compete now that I am experiencing it myself. The diet consumes my life, all I think about is food lol. and when my next meal is. My calories arent low yet, and I’m sure they will start dropping! For some odd reason, I want them to drop..I want to see what going on under the rest of the fat on my body. I can’t wait for the next step in my diet!

As for the rest of my prep, things are rolling along. I have had a few posing lessons, and will have one to two a week in the following months. Posing is going great! It isnt as hard as i thought it would be, I enjoy it! I ordered my suit a couple weeks ago! I cannot wait to get it! got my shoes already, check! Now the rest is a waiting(prepping) game. Just be patient and the rest will come with hard work. Positivity!

On to Easter, lol. I saw my grandma last weekend, and she goes…"I don’t, know what your going to be able to eat…maybe some veggies" lol i told her i’d bring my own food. sometimes family members just don’t get it. Sunday will have many of temptations! i mean, who doesn’t love grandmas cooking?!? oh well… have a great one!
