Well, after the last two NGA pro shows, I've decided to leave it behind. I am giving up pro status and moving on to NPC amateur division. There are several reasons for this switch, but mainly by listening to people in the "industry" talk about my last 2 shows is what made my decision final. Actually one of the local judges (a gal whom I've competed against in the past) told me that I need to find a new organization or do bikini. She said I just dont fit in anymore. I've had national-level npc judges tell me I have a figure body, not a bikini body and that what she said was rediculous. She is a promoter of NGA and she's telling me to find a new organization? Some promoter! I was going to take a group of the gals and guys I train to her show later this year, but now I am strongly recommending they choose another show (there is another local show just 2 weeks prior this fall!) Is that wrong? But I can't support someone that doesn't support her own affiliation....
Anyway, this has motivated me like crazy! I have been training harder than ever and eating like a champ! Here is a pic of the last show....I'll let you decide if I "fit in" or not......I'm in the center, purple suit.
You sound similar to me. I train like a man possessed now mainly because of what other's have said to or about me. Nothing like hearing it straight from people to motivate you. ROCK ON!!!!
Where some ladies have an obvious attribute (shoulders, quads, etc.) you appear to be very well proportioned and definitely a figure body. You look fabulous! If I was in your shoes I think I would be feeling the need to make a change and switch organizations, but don't let that one bad seed make your decision for you. Good luck with whatever path you decide, and thank you for your fitness contributions.
Logic says if you were winning bikini, you have a bikini body. I honestly think you could compete in either in any organization and be at the top of the class. Sounds like a jealous judge to me.
I wouldn't call it dishonesty, your in a sport where things like "figure" and bikini" which on there face mean absulutley nothing., except what people say they mean. If your not in the companys figure category, then you probabbly should go somewhere else. No shame in it. Honest enough to tell you.
In my humble opinion I would see you killing it in NPC figure and getting marked off for being to muscular in bikini. I say if the organization cant see the plus you bring to the organization then leave and start a new. Overall tho do whats best for you
Kathy, you always look fantabulous. Great to see other semi-oldies (I'm waaaaay older than you) keeping fit. You decide for yourself what's best FOR YOU.

After the 2 NGA shows this spring I too am switching organizations - you are amazing in every way and best of luck to you. You definitely deserve better!!
You look amazing, and not only belong, but you look better than the other competitors. Sounds like a very intelligent decision!
