Question of the day...
OK....my competition goals are to compete in 2 local shows coming up in April. One is on the 16th and the other is two weeks later on the 30th. I just found out that another 3rd show (not far from here) is thinking about doing a video series leading up to the show and I was one of the possible athletes to be featured on it. The date of this show is April 9. Now, having already committed to the show on the 16th, do I dare do all 3? How many shows that close can a competitor handle before she looses all her muscle? I have more muscle right now than I've ever had....don't want to see it go away with too much dieting
......and what about the tan? Will I look like a diseased beast with layer after peeling layer week after week?
The problem you will most likely run into is that it is difficult to maintain a "contest ready" body for very long. Especially with the week leading up to the show requiring you to water out. It is very hard on the body. Two shows in a month is very ambitious, even for a seasoned bodybuilder. My advice is skip the third and concentrate on coming in as lean and hard as possible for the show you have already committed to.
Take a few days to recover after the first and start getting ready for the second. You shouldn't be tanning so much that your going to peel. A good spray tan the day befor the contest is the way to go, but you need someone that has sprayed competitors befor because it requires ALOT more layers of spray than a normal person would get due to the stage lights causing a "wash out" effect and lighting the tan.
Hope this helps.
Im an idiot, I posted befor reading your credentials. All above is probably redundant. Good luck! :)
A great deal depends on the level of conditioning expected in each show. Some shows expect/judge on greater degrees of "hardness" than others. If possible, talk to the promoters and even the judges to get a feel for what conditioning level they're looking for. It may not be that big a problem. Keep your training heavy and just adjust your macronutrients without sacrificing calories too much, and then, depending on the judging expectations, you may be able to pull it off.
Thanks for the input....I am set on doing the show on the 16th and I know that I have to bring in top condidtioning for all shows. My diet for any show is to keep calories high with changes in the types of food eaten, but i still loose weight on this. Will try my hardest to increase the calories with the added cardio to save any size I have and see how that works out....never know till ya try!! ;)
I believe in you! You have great knowledge and know your body better then anyone sweetie. You always come out Gorgeous and Strong... What ever you do, you will Succeed!
Just don't push the diet and continue to exercise during the 2 lesser competitions and win all 3. Your absolutely fit figure wins the competition.
