Has anyone heard of “Prolozone Therapy”
I have had such pain in my knee for several years now and it feels like I have broken glass inside my knee at times. When I hurt my back, we talked about my knee problems and the doc mentioned prolozone therapy (an injection…..no surgery) and how it stimulates new activity of fibroblasts and chondroblasts. They use it on carpal tunnel, degenterative disease in knees and back, the list goes on and on. I have an apointment for my first injection because right now, I can’t even straighten my leg without great pain and I have a competition in 3 weeks! I hope this helps….and if it does, you’ll see my testimony right here on this blog!
(You can actually see how swollen my knee is in my pic on the beach!)

I have had cortisone shots in my wrist (I broke my wrist and arm in multiple places last year) and it really helped me start to get some mobility back into my wrist… it also helped with the immense pain in the wrist joint.
I hope the therapy works for you.. You will do great in your competition!

Yes, I can see the swelling…ouch. Knee problems just plain suk, I hope this new therapy really does the trick for you, is it supposed to work that quick?

Yes, its supposed to work that quick and its different from cortizone because it actually heals (hopefully) rather than a temp fix. I’ve had too many cortizone shots to the point my doc won’t give me any more because they can destroy tissue…..and that’s what is starting to cause more pain. My cartilage is so broken down and rough that it grinds with every step I take. I’m really feeling it after that hard leg day, too!

PLEASE post your results on this blog! I have a similar pain in my left knee (Two many hard landings on inlines in my youth). It’s throbbing as I type. I have NEVER been a fan of cortizone shots; pain is a warning sign to STOP whatever it is you are doing to create the pain, not a reason for a shot…

Yep, can see the swelling & difference in the knees. NOT FUN. Knee & back pain, man they really put a crimp in training. And all of life, actually. I hope the treatment works, Kathy. Now the rest of the pic……Whew. I still say you’re joshing…….You’re really 22, aren’t you? C’mon, tell us the truth.

Hmm, I work with about 20 different orthopaedic surgeons and we’ve never used that. Wel, let me know. I will ask Monday though and let you know!1 Theresa
