Darn flu bug….

I’m starting to get stressed….its been 5 days and I haven’t been able to work out.  Most of my days are spent sleeping, missing work, coughing, and now we can add grumpy to that.  I really need to be healthy and get my training on track.  The clock is ticking for my next competition.  I fly out 5 weeks from today.  I’m watching all my hard work (muscles) get smaller and smaller and waste away.  I try to eat right, but I just don’t have an appetite.  I really need to get back to work, too.  If you have read any of my previous posts, my boss had emergency brain surgery a few weeks ago so I’ve already had a long vactaion.  This was his first week back to work, but there is no way I’m taking this flu in to work where he can get it….no way.  He’s amazing enough to be back so soon, I’m not going to jeopardize his health or anybody elses.   I work at a dentist office….who wants to have someone working in their mouth that is coughing and hacking all over the place?  Of course we are covered, but still….I wouldn’t!

I’m so sorry to hear that you’re still not feeling well :( The best thing you can do for your body is rest. Try to eat as much protein as you can although I know it must be difficult with the lack of appetite. Maybe you could make some delicious chicken noodle soup with tons of chicken in it.

The good thing is when you’re all better your appetite is going to come back with a vengeance!

I hope you feel better soon :)

The best part of being sick is the chicken soup and butter flavored crackers. I like both but only eat them when I’m under the weather. Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry your still down. I know how you feel about missing the gym time and all, but your not wasting away. Recouperating is very important, and when your back at it, you will be amazed, I’m sure. Stay hydrated, eat the best you can and get well soon. And don’t worry about the comp…you’ll do great.

Being sick really stinks…not much you can do about it but do all you can to get well. Don’t get stressed about the competition (I know easy for me to say). It won’t help your overall health or training. Hang in there :)

So sorry you are feeling bad Kathy,:( I know it hard, but you got to rest sweety. Don’t want to relaspe and then it will be very bad! Trust me, I didn’t listen to my body a few years back and I got so sick I had pneumonia. Had to say off of work for almost 2 weeks! So you get all better, those weight will be there when you get back, and you will destroy them! I know you will!!!!!!! :D

Thanks!! I went to the gym tonight and gave it a try. I did triceps and that’s all I had energy for…..but I made it through the workout and I’m still standing! Yea! I think I’ll get feeling better just in time to take care of my husband. He is starting to come down with it too.

Thank you for the comments on my page. I did sneak back into the gym this weekend with back/arms and 4 mile run on Saturday then legs/abs and 3 mile run on Sunday. Boy are my muscles sore. Still trying to sneak my way back into regular training.

Glad to hear you made it back into the gym tonight. I had a cold a month ago and understand. It stinks being sick. I know the craving of exercise being a Marine in my earlier years. Best of luck in the coming weeks and from your photo, I know you will do amazingly well!
