Here we go again…2008
Tuesday, January 8th, 2008I am starting 2008 returning from the desert. I have been living "groundhog day" for the past 130 days of my life, and have come to many great decisions (at least I find them great). I have always been fairly blessed w/ athletism. I am not the most gifted, but I have been told on more than one occasion I should attempt to play golf on the pro level. I have been earning my degree in CISM, and working 2 jobs to support my wife–until I deployed–and also playing a lot of golf, while working on getting promoted. I did not realize it, but I was burnt out…so much so, that I became a complete metal head while overseas. I forgot how much I loved lifting; under the right circumstances, and want to continue when I return…but I must evaluate my future and see what I want to accomplish this year. Intenalizing such issues can be overwhelming, so I decided to write it out:
Pay off debt (wife college loans)
Finish degree
Work HARD on marriage
Bench 405, Squat 495, Dead 525 by summer
Maintain a sub 5 handicap in golf–
Change my wardrobe( I’ve fallen behind…t-shirts/jeans(golf clothes) only last so long)
Meet 5 new people/ hang out w/ at least 3 of them on a reg. basis
Talk to my parents more often.
Talk to my in-laws more often–
Get out and explore–whitewater rafting, mountain biking, hiking, and etc.
Coach youth league bball
Get Promoted( should be higher on the list…)
Drop paperwork to become an officer
Start looking for job’s outside of the military to compare–
Buy a house??????? If the marriage gets worked out–
Take dance class (salsa)–JWhite needs his groove back–haha)
Take some MA classes
Take some language classes…
There is so much more, but I think this is a great start–I’ll be 26 in 8 months…I hope to have accomplished 75% by then…wish me luck!
