Just Musing a bit
Thursday, February 8th, 2007Hello, all! Not sure that anyone will ever visit this spot.. but I figure just in case, I should have something in here.
FYI - I’m 38 years old, 5′11" tall, and weigh right around 225lbs. I started bb’ing September of 2004, after a 17 year hiatus from lifting. I have no grand illusions for myself. I just want to do the best I can at this game known as bb’ing. I don’t have any plans to compete. I know I don’t have the dieting discipline to get there. BUT I would like to pack on enough muscle to someday be able to say I could compete, if I really wanted to.
My style of training, since the middle of December, 2006, is DC training - Doggcrapp training. For those interested, you can check out my journal in the over 35 section of bb.com. http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=689331 This particular journal was started in 2006, and shows several different training styles. But now that I’ve started DC training in earnest, I love it and can’t see myself changing back to any more "traditional" style of training. By the way, for more info on DC training, just Google "Doggcrapp"
Anyway, yesterdays workout, 2/7/07 was particularly rewarding for me - not only physcially, but psychologically as well. I wrote about the "benefits" I reaped in another person’s journal, and thought I’d share it here, too:
Isn’t it funny what we get pleasure out of when we BB? I mean there are very few at my gym that go to the "other" DB rack for anything. I’ve found myself honestly envying those who do use the heavier weights… wanting to do it myself. Well, now I have with one exercise, and I’m probably ready on another (db curls). Looking back to Sept. of 04, it’s hard to believe I’ve come as far as I have… I started with 20lbs I think on those buggers. That’s not to say that I’ve come a long way in comparison to others… but for ME it’s huge. Just wish I’d stuck with it from college days onward! But yesterday was definately a big psychological boost for me.
