hi guys!
obviously i have not been using this thing, central america has been amazing and i really am in the best shape of my life. in the last three months i have ascended four volcanoes (one in each country ive been to on this trip), done lots of hikes, walked around unfamiliar towns in 35 degree heat with my giant ass backpack on my back looking for a hostel… i am actually strong!
nutrition has been pretty relaxed though you kind of have to go out of your way to eat unhealthily here.. lots of rice, beans and chicken meals, lots of fresh fruit, etc
but soon i’m coming home, in 11 days actually, and since i am relaxing more than globe trotting (chillin in southern nicaragua now.. i fly out of costa rica, so i will be partying on the caribbean coast and maybe head down to panama for a couple of days) i am actually getting some intentional workouts in. did a plyo workout a few days ago and my ass is still sore. yesterday was abs, pushups, tricep dips and lots of stretching. today i will try to do some form on cardio, but this is hard in the heat/in a dorm room with other people haha
food today looks like…
breakfast: half a pineapple, two hard boiled eggs, two slices multigrain toast one with guava jelly. have this almost everyday
snack: peanuts
lunch: peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat (i am on a super budget… actually im living on like 10-15 dollars a day)
snack: other half of pineapple
dinner: rice, beans, chicken, salad, fried plantain
and . … that’s pretty much it. it’s similar to this almost everyday, though this week i bought a pack of some special k bars… not to follow the diet, i just had a sweet tooth and it seemed like a good option. the thing is, they taste like rice crispie squares and i really like thema nd i ended up having three a day… but in general my diet is pretty high carb, moderate protein, i try to eat fish a few times a week and eat lots of nuts for good fats. olive oil is way too pricey for me so i am looking with canola usually. i try to eat other fruits but god dammit i just love pineapple and its so cheap. watermelon smoothies some days if i’m feeling indulgent.. and if i drink it’s flor de cana dark rum!
i hope to come home looking and feeling really fit, and with a gorgeous tan

Since my flight is at 6am and I have been counting the day of the flight this whole time which was a little ditzy of me.
Anywho! Since my last post I have done one killer HIIT cardio sesh, one upper body sesh(yoga the same night), and one LEG DAAAYYY which was last night. The regulars at my gym are commenting more and more on how my lifts are improving which is awesome… This was a particularly good leg day, I did all of what I usually do and also the same weight BUT with 110% perfect form, agonizingly slowly and with less rest between sets.
I never cared about the less than 1 minute rest thing that keeps popping up in articles and magazines, I squat so hard I literally want to puke and no one’s gunna tell me I can’t rest longer than 60 secs, but the fact that I am not resting as long is telling me that I am really just getting overall more fit
Today I will do 20 mins steady state cardio. I ate a lot of crap yesterday after leg day (stuck to one glass of red wine thank god), and I just can’t afford to do that right now. 12 days is not a lot of time. No large amounts of crap(just the occasional nibble), no skipped workouts, "active" rest days (light cardio, walks, whatever)
Maybe when I get my schedule at work(they don’t put it up til the last minute, I really enjoy that), I will plan out my workouts. Usually I don’t do this but… Have I mentioned I’m leaving in 12 days????

Jamie… Kind of strange to be posting a pic of a fellow bodyspace member ON bodyspace but oh well!

Oh my god, I’m leaving in just over two weeks… And I still have to get half my vaccinations and visit my parents and do all sorts of bullshiittttt ahahgagdfgggghhhh
So, right now I am very hungover and trying to eat breakfast but it’s not really working out. I am slowly making my way through my eggs and toast (Always eat the veggies first.. Why, I don’t know.) Last night I had an entire bottle of organic cab sauv to myself, and a few shots of vodka…
Went out and ended up h aving a grilled chicken burger and some fries, but not a ton as I had already become very very drunk by this point and didn’t have much of an appetite. Didn’t do so bad, and had a WICKED hiit session. I’ve been adding some plyometric moves to my HIIT and I’m getting better/faster

20 mins cardio and core work yesterday, today is 15 minutes of HIIT. I plan to do 20 mins cardio and an upper body session tomorrow.. Still sore from legs OF COURSE
My birthday is on Saturday!!! Tonight I am celebrating… And tomorrow I am celebrating… And the day after I am celebrating… And finally on Sunday I celebrate with my mom Wine will be involved.
In other news, the changes in my body are amazing.. Places I never expected to slim down like my cheeks and my upper arms (which were never that big, but always soft and I thought that was a lack of muscle rather than much excess fat), the bits of cellulite I had are almost completely gone… I just feel really comfortable, it’s great!

My leg day was excellent… I think maybe I haven’t been eating enough on previous leg days, because my energy was MUCH better than usual (taking Superpump like always) and I ate one full meal more than normally. I had been focussing on eating a huge meal after my PWO shake, but now I see that eating more the entire day up to my workout has a great effect on me
Squat is up to 165lbs, leg press is now 290lbs Right to the chest baby… It feels awesome! I didn’t think I could gain so much strength while cutting cals and adding cardio
Today I will do 20 mins cardio after work, lowering cals significantly from yesterday. More water, more yerba mate tea, more veggies, more protein…

And I’m beginning this three week period with a kick ass leg day and a day of eating lots of nutritious goodness. Upped my cals and carbs a lot today but I am still keeping it clean. I need it afterall! GLUTES, GLUTES, GLUTES! I have been low cal, low alcohol (SHOCKING.. not alcohol free but I’ve definitely cut down in frequency and also volume lol) and working out everyday. Cardio after work has become a habit for me, just 20 minutes (unless it’s HIIT day), it feels awesome no matter how tired I am. I’m so proud of myself, I never thought I would be able to stick to a cardio plan like this for so long
Food so far:
An apple and a protein bar on the way to work (had a very small dinner last night, was too lazy to cook and woke up starving)
Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs, half of one organic chicken sausage, one slice of rye toast
Snack: Acai berry smoothie with bee pollen(weird, I know), protein
Lunch: Grilled turkey on one slice of rye with caramalized onions and cranberries, salad
Snack: Cup o cherries
Meal: Flank steak with quinoa and asparagus/broc/kale. Followed by SUPERPUMP in a bit!!! Will have a shake and a protein/carb meal after legs
I love Annette Milbers!!!!

Guys, life is good. I am feeling awesome, healthy, fit, confident… I am having a great time trying to squeeze in bonding time with my friends and family and I am eating a delicious healthy meal right now yaaay. I am reaching my goals… A LOT of my goals, fitness and otherwise. That is so satisfying.
This morn I did a fasted 20 min cardio workout. It was basically steady state with 3 sprints thrown in as well as about 7 sets of plyos(jump squats, tuck jumps, side to side thingies). I will do an upper body workout in the evening. It has given me a lot of energy to add some lower intensity cardio days, and I think I prefer adding more cardio to lowering cals as my trip approaches. I wish I could have another leg day but I am still sore, especially at the glute/ham tie in

So, my lack of posting has not been because I’m deathly sick or being lazy. I have been doing awesome cardio, actually had a sprint and bodyweight circuit type thing right after I wrote my last post. Had a great upper body session and today is LEGGGDAAAYYYYy boooyeah!
I am feeling and looking great… I wore the flimsiest, thinnest, softest dress I own the other night. You know, the dress that sits in such a way that it shows every single lump you have but is so beautiful you bought it anyway? I wore it and looked good, I was a little shocked hahaha. So the mirror results are coming, I will do some kind of weighing or measuring when my period decides to end (sorry for the tmi!)
I just finished breakfast, yes it’s 3pm but I have two jobs and my schedule is totally ****ed, and I’m pumped for the day Things in my personal life are going very well, many things are coming together and my birthday is coming up…. I am too happy for the internet apparently haha

Turns out it’s the stomach flu! hahaha oh god. 29 days and I have the flu
So I puked all day yesterday. Nutrition, all consumed after 5pm: Chicken and veggie soup with an egg salad sandwich on some anonymous brown bread. Instant noodles (it’s the only thing I could imagine eating at the time…). Huge bowl of canned roasted veggie soup
Today was MUUUUUCCHHHOOO better. 2 eggs, toast, soup, spinach and smoked salmon salad, a small brownie (hahaha oh well), lotsa green tea, lentil soup for dinner
No workout obviously…
I still have time!!! Push push push!
