Today is a day off of training, thankfully! I am so incredibly sore. Of course I do always start my day with cardio so I still put in the 30 minute ride, but if I had to lift today, I am afraid my body wouldn’t have the strength. I did arms and shoulders yesterday. Only 4 exercises, but 20 sets of arms, 10 reps each set for a total of 200 reps and 6 sets of shoulders at 10 reps each set, for 90 reps total. This new training program is absolutely amazing. I am so stoked to see how much size I can gain. Long range goal for 1 year is to put on 5 lbs of muscle. I totally believe I can do it…who knows, if I can, do I want to try another competition?!?!? Peace. J~

This is day 2 of my phase I of GVT and I am loving it! I haven’t felt this intesity in a workout in a long time. I am honestly amazed. If this doesn’t help me increase in size, I don’t know what will. I am absolutely exhausted and by the 10th set I was totally fatiqued and almost couldn’t finish the set. Now that is a workout. Tomorrow is a day off and I guess this weekend I will have to drag my weights and bench along camping. Sounds weird, but my RV is in a permanent spot. Peace. J~

Interesting, my nutritionist put me on a new program to gain some size. My diet has changed, my training has changed and hopefully my body will change. After 16 weeks of dieting and training I realize that I am too light and small. I really want to try and gain some size. The first phase of this training lasts 3 weeks, then phase 2 is 8 weeks and then I am going to go back to my strength training and diet down again to see if I have gained any muscle. Last year I actually gained 2 lbs which is really quite a lot for lean muscle mass gain. I am aiming for another 3 lbs. If it works, I am going to try a year long program. Oh yeah, my diet has changed for this as well! Keep ya posted! Peace. J~

I am in my second day of my body cleanse and I am feeling really good. I can’t believe I am not starving or really craving anything. I think this is such a smart idea after the competition and waiting 10 days to do it is the way to go. I am having a bit of a headache issue and I know that is the caffeine coming out. I am sleeping like a log and have enough energy to make it through the work day. Yesterday I did some cardio and arms (just light) I know it says not to work out on the cleanse but I felt I just had to. Today I won’t, I want to save energy to go visiting tonight, after all it is friday! I have some computer work to do so I need to get that out of the way early otherwise it will be tough to focus. All is good in my world. Peace. J~

Today I decided to step on the scale. It has been 11 days since my first competition and I took last week off of training and eating, which I believe was the best thing to do for my body. Today I weighed in at 156, 12 lbs of weight gain which I know alot is water back in my cells. This is a good thing and I am very happy where I am sitting right now. Looking back at my stats from the 16 week competition diet, I should be sitting at about 12-13 % body fat. This is where I would like to stay. Tomorrow I do my 2 day cleanse and I am looking forward to that. I didn’t want to weigh in after the cleanse as I will probably drop a pound or 2. I just wanted to have a good idea as to where I am sitting now, especially after chowing down last week. Trust me, it was a GOOD week! Now I am back on a sensible eating plan, one that is easy to follow and more importantly to prepare for. I feel actually pretty good today. I had a great workout this morning, back and cardio and now I am ready to rock and roll. One thing I really enjoyed during this journey was getting up early to do cardio. This way it is out of the way early and I can get a good solid lift in at work first thing in the am. Also, I am able to take weekends off of training and spend it with family. I feel great and refreshed, ready to take on the world, ok maybe just my work! Peace. J~

So it has been a week since the competition. Last week I took off so that my body could get rid of the toxins and I could rest my shoulder and actually my whole body. It was a great week with no worrying about what I wanted to eat or what I would eat. Followed by a weekend of camping with my family and having a few glasses of a good shiraz. Today I got back into the gym for the first time. I had an awesome chest workout. I am sticking to a heavy workout to try and gain some size. My nutritionist has given me a gaining program as well as a maintenance program, I just need to decide which one I want to pursue. I do want to gain some muscle, maybe 8 lbs or so. If I stick to his off-season meal plan that should be the trick. If I choose just to maintain what I have, I will stick with the Healthy plan. After lifting today I felt totally psyched up to gain some size. I felt really strong. Finished off with some cardio. That is the other thing I get to kick back as well. 20 minutes max for the gaining program. Decisions decisions! Thursday and friday I am going to do a cleanse. Isagenix is a very reputable one. I am still suffering from headaches from the caffeine. Considering I was never a coffee drinking, now to get rid of the headache I have a cup a day. I am hoping the cleanse will take away the rest of the toxins. Can’t wait to hit the weights again tomorrow. I seem to have a new energy level for my training and I want to keep riding that hi! Peace. J~
