My Bio…..

_JWA927572-2[1].JPGHello, my name is Julie (although I’m better known as Jules). I am a 39-year old mother of 4 beautiful children. I have been happily married for almost 15 years (and together for more than 20 years)!! My husband is my best friend and soul mate (and a great workout partner). I gave birth to my first child in October 1996 and my last child was born in February 2001. I truly was your average mom barely finding any time for myself with four little ones running around. Life was passing by quickly and I finally decided that I had to do something to change the pace. I started small and worked my way up - participating in a 60-mile fundraising walk for cancer, early morning boot camps at a local field (rain or shine), and then eventually finding Cathy Savage Fitness. At age 38 I competed and took home two trophies. It’s addicting and I love it!! I am also a part-time model and actress - but more importantly, I’m a full-time mom and wouldn’t trade it for the world!! Although it leads to a very busy life, being a fit mom is possible..and wonderful!

Nice read. Very inspirational for sure. I’m going to be doing the 60k walk for breast cancer next summer. Great to read that you’re working hard to have the life you’re looking for. Must be fun to workout with your husband. I go to the gym with my gf, but she’s not as into it as I am right now. Maybe that will change with time though. Keep it up!

    Hey Jules
I have nothing but admiration for the moms who can juggle the kids, husband and maintain a healthy lifestyle, and to get to the level to be able to compete is inspireing. With the support of your family you can accomplish your goals, You are very attractive lady, enjoy your life and your family and take care.

Thank you both very much for the kind words…it is fun having a hubby who loves the healthy lifestyle as much as I do. He helps to motivate me when I am slacking. I think we both still want to impress one another…it’s fun!

    Hi Jules,
To echo the other guys — you are really impressive! It is partially because of profiles like yours that my g/f has started to workout so much more and to lift weights. She’s still a bit afraid to lift "heavy" though and I always tell her that women like you, who’s body she admires, probably can squat, leg press, curl and deadlift more than she imagines — probably more than many guys. Can you share some of your lifting stats for her and the rest of the board? Thanks!!

    Hey there carolinajim,

I am all over the board with my lifting stats. I do go heavy and am not afraid to step in front of a man to grab a heavy dumbbell….I’ve even been known to have few guys ‘bust on themselves’ when I’m not too far away from what they are curling…

I do plyo workouts, cardio, sprinting, weights and just plain ole good workouts. Pull-ups, push-ups, mountain climbers, squat jumps, lunges, squats etc….it’s not a # but it’s pushing your particular self.

Weight training for women is so important! It scupts us and I don’t consider myself a musclechick…but I do consider myself a toned in-shape girl….

Hope that helps. I am so glad to hear your girlfriend is getting into weight training!

    Jules
