I hope I’m not alone here, but today I totally indulged! I had made a bunch of desserts for my family’s dinner. Ugh.
Well…tomorrow I will get to the gym to work some of it off - though probably only ounces worth.
Aside… a med-student friend told me, in response to my excuse to forego a workout because of muscle soreness I experiences from a previous day’s workout, that working out while sore is good for you. Has anyone heard of this?
I’ve fully recouped now and so tomorrow’s workout should go smoothly. Legs!
Squats - 4 sets: 10, 8, 6, 4
Lunges - 3 sets: 8-10
Lying Curls - 4 sets: 10, 8, 6, 6
Leg Extensions - 3 sets: 8-10
Standing Calf Raises - 3 sets: 12-15
Seated Calf Raises - 3 sets: 12-15
Limp to my car, drive home.

But, I’ve resumed working out. After a few months hiatus, I’ve found the motivation to get back into the gym. Last week I managed to workout a few times, not including yesterday, Saturday, when I worked out too. Hopefully I will get to the gym later today, Sunday, which will hopefully give me the momentum to get next week started right.
This time ’round, I have an interest in merely getting fit again, though with particular emphasis of gaining strength. Previously I had had the same goal, though I punctuated it with routines that emphasized size, and even one period of only running. Now, hopefully I can maintain a more holistic approach that involves an adequate amount of cardio (i.e. running) and strength training, two goals not often combined.

I’ve resumed my old routine after some lighter lifting due to a mild back injury. I’ve grown more attuned to my body’s reaction to resistance so that I don’t repeat what happened last time. Aside, the weather here in New York is beautiful! So, I’m trying to enjoy it.

I had a good day at the gym today. I worked out my legs, bi’s, and tri’s. We’ll see what comes of my cardio day tomorrow. Hopefully I can overcome my shin splints, if not tomorrow, in time.
Today, I managed to do squats, leg presses, leg extensions, and standing calf raises. Next week I will start to keep a journal to chart my progress.
After coming home and enjoying a plate full of meet, I’m relaxing now with some Tangiers shisha. Anyone into shisha? I don’t suspect so on this site, but it does help me relax, despite it being an awful habit.

My sleep cycle is off (again!), which doesn’t bode well for my overall fitness. I will get it back in check by the weekend though, so hopefully not much harm will come of it.
My workouts have been consistent; I get to the gym almost five days a week now. Although I have to do more cardio, I have grown content with the idea of "bulking" now, while I can, and dieting with increased cardio in a couple of months.
Does anyone else bulk for two months only? Does it work?
Next weekend I plan to go to Detroit for my grad school roommate’s bachelor party. I hope I don’t counteract what small amount of progress I’ve made!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have been doing full-body workouts for the past couple weeks. Today, I began a new split routine. Although, I shouldn’t probably call it a routine yet because I’m only one day in; I haven’t written it out yet either.
As an aside, there’s not much new activity in the forums tonight. I’ve been using the Religion/Politics forum to procrastinate from studying. It’s my new guilty pleasure.

On the extremely off chance that someone able to assist might see this post: Does anyone know of a resource that compares the various types of creatine? PM me or comment back, will you?

Finally, I joined a gym (again)! I haven’t lifted in the last few months, which means staying relatively weak for a while. I’ve been doing full-body routines so far, for the past couple weeks. I will probably endure one more week of it before I shift to a more standard, split routine. I’m open for suggestions by the way.
Moving around for work, and now study has kept me out of the gym, and busy moving, acclimating, but eventually to move again. Hopefully I will be stay put for a while. I’m back home in New York (finally!). I haven’t stayed around here for this long since I was in college. I missed it for sure.

Everyone’s everyone: I worked out today for the first time in about a month. It felt good to get back to it, really. Thing was, I left without a serious pump. While I wanted to make the first workout a true WORKout, I also didn’t want to hit it so hard that I’d take too long to recover. I’ll keep you updated.

Now that I’m back from traveling (to San Diego and Chicago), I look forward to getting back to the gym. I decided to take some time to vacation (and visit with friends and family) after taking the bar exam last month. The exam was pure torture by the way.
While traveling I didn’t get to work out much, which means that I might’ve lost strength and even a bit of muscularity. Hopefully, it won’t take long to get back to where I was. Wish me luck!
I promise to post more. I want to see my hit count raise!
