Hit em HI hit em looooow / Hi and Low Rep Training. What do u think works b

January 10, 2009

I have currently been a trainer for a little over two years now and one of the biggest controversies that I hear about when you talk from person to person is what is the best way for you to build the most muscle.  As some may know by changing your reps up you will work different muscle fibers and focus on different goals.  Such as Strength training, doing sets of 5 or sets of 3 or 1-6 reps as I was taught is going to help build strength but not necessarily size.  Hypertrophy , again as I was taught, is about 6-12 reps ( which I do not agree with in all cases) but your going to focus more on building size and lean muscle with that lactic acid build up, rather than strength.  Then you’ve got the rep range of about 12+ which would be considered to be Strength Endurance.  These rep ranges affect everyone differently depending on training age and muscle belly size.  But what do you guys think? what works best for you? spit your stuff I’m just interested in what others have to say about this.
