How will the story that is your life read?

November 23, 2009

When you think about what your life is now, what you have done, what you continue to accomplish. What will people 100 years from now say about you! If they opened up a book that is your life and read the chapters that are your years what will they see. Will they see a person with humble beginings, a person that had eyes that were wide open to the possibles that life will bring. A person eager to make steps forward, letting nothing hold him back.

As they skim through the middle chapters will they see a person who is strong, determined and focus on what he or she has set out to do, or a person who just was content to do something rather than great things. As they look upon your eyes that have grown older, but wiser! Will they still see the person with a mindset that the sky is the limit, that would not allow any person to tell them that something was impossible to do. In fact impossible is not in his vocabulary. Because it can be done, you just have to find a way to do it. A person not without trial, but a person who used his trails and tribulations to mood who he was.

As they look upon the paraghs that are the month of your life will they see the things that you over came, the obscales that life through in your way, the bumps in the road, the pot holes that caused pain and hurt. But these did not stop you, the story kept going, it kept moving ever forward to your goals. Or will the person who emerges be the person that as soon as the wind blew and rain started to come down craved in under the pressure.

Will they see that pride that is in your eyes from the fact you have accomplish so much, you have set the standard for all to meet up to! Will they see the fact that you have stand tall, erect, with your chest out and your head high. In your face will they see the person who has no regrets, that he lived life to the fullest! That he or she has taught there family to do the same, and they were dang proud of who they had become not because they looked amazing. But because who he or she was, is so evident to all, there was no doubt! Who he or she was wasn’t left up to chance. The person within was seen on the outside!

Will the story read as adventure, a journey, a expedetion. Well it be so good that when it is read the reader will not be able to put that book down, because this life was in one word amazing! I sure hope so, I hope that the story that is my life will end with the words he died old, powerful, strong, accomplished and satisfied with years! J

The Charaters In my Gym

November 20, 2009

I went to the gym today and did my abs and shoulder routine with HITT cardio for 20 min to finish it up. I must say, when I am in the gym there are all kinds of person I meet when I am there. I do my best to remember names, but I have never been good with that. So I create names for the person I meet who are regulars, and provide me with tips or a spot.

Here are my List of Charters and why I call them this

Mr. Muscles - You all know Mr. Muscles, He is the strongest, most built man in the gym. But his huge frame is balanced with such a mild tempered personality. His arms are as big as my neck, and he can curl two plates on each side (225lbs) That why he alone hold the name MR. MUSCLES.

Mr. Lean Muscles - Like Mr. Muscles above he is huge, but all lean muscle. I think you can nuk and cranee of muscle in his arms legs and chest. When he spots me, I know I am in for a killing. Very Nice personality also, saw me one day try to put up some heavy weight and just came over and helped. Didn’t even have to ask him. He said to me, that he didn’t mind spotting a person as long as they were working hard, and lifting heavy!

The Twins - Nope these are not girls. To guys who come to the gym and talk for about 15mins and then decide to take up every machine and bench they can. I alway end up bumping head with them because I say "can I use this" And they say "we are using that" then I will go over to somewhere else and start using another machine and they again say "oh we are using that also". They get on my nerves and never really workout!

The owner of the Gym - Guy who comes in once a week and thinks he is god’s gift to womankind, (even through he is not) and using everything at once! As if he owns the whole weight room.

The sisters - Ok, the sisters are girls, they spend there hole time (sometimes 1:15mins) on the treadmill. But they seem nice and always say hello!

The Show hottie - She doesn’t workout, she just comes into the gym and walks around in the tightest outfit she can find. Does a lot of bending and strecthing. She wheres makeup and her hair is always done! I swear if a thread came lose on her gym outfit, the hole thing would explode. But she is a hottie, no lie there. LOL!!!!!

The Workout Hottie/Trainer - Coolest trainer hands down, and such a guy woman. Knows about sports, and sweet. Cares about her clients and is just all around goreous! Always say hello, and I guess I have a little cush on her!

The No good trainer - He doesn’t like me, and I don’t like him. He never changes to work with his clients and just walks around from maching to machine doing one set on each with his clients. It just pisses me off!

The Italian Stalone - The guy has such a brooklyn accent, and is as strong as they come. He looked so mean in the gym when I first meet him! But looks can be decieving. He is one of the nice persons! But when you workout with him be prepared to get killed. He doesn’t look as strong, but he is amazingly strong! Blow your mind strong! That’s why I love working out with him. And the funny thing, he know every girl in that gym.

The Big Guy - I talked about him on one of my pervious blog, he is extremely over weight, but that man works out every day! And He is making some good progress. I was talking to him the other day and he said he had lost about 45lbs since he started! I like the fact that he continuely pushing himself! Such a good person!

Workout Wise Old Woman - She is known by everybody in the gym. I would say she is in her 70’s and workout regularly. She was once a trainner and always has so great tips to help with your routine! Just as wise as she could be!

The Invisble Man - I call him that because this guy has lost so much weight so quickly he seem as if he is dissappearing before or very eyes! And He getting stronger everyday!

Mrs. Muscle - Strongest woman in the gym. The lady works out with the guys and leaves some of them in the dust! She does weighted dips and pull-up. She is so powerful, but she does have a pret prev, she hates to see people come over to the free weights area and do nothing. Like there is a guy who just come over and sits on the bench and reads while holding a 5lbs dumbell in one hand. I swear she was going to knock him out with the 50lb she was using. LOL!

And finally my nick name is the big man, don’t know why they call me that! :D

I could go on, but these are the main charters that are in my life gym story. LOL! They keep me going and distracted from all the pain I am going through.

Life is to short

November 18, 2009

I did every thing I was suposed today as far as my fitness is concern. Which was the good part of the day! But after work I decided to go and visit a friend who was in the hospital! On Tuesday night, my father called me at home and explained that his good friend who is like a brother had passed out at work yesterday while giving a presentation to some clients.

Boy was I concerned because this friend has alway been a source of encouragement to me! I asked my father if he need me to go to the hospital with him that night. But he mentioned  that his wife had already called and told him that he was doing alright and the doctors at the hospital were running all kinds of test on him to make sure he was alright. But he mentioned that he was going to head up there the next morning early.

I went to work today and after work headed up to the hospital to visit my uncle Juan. He is spanish and has a huge family. 6 Daughers and 1 Son! LOL! Juan Jr is the youngest to we love him to death! When I got the hospital, his family and friends were all there, including my father and mother and sister! Juan seamed to be alright and was explain to us as he was in bed that all the test came back normal. So they were still trying to figure out what was going on. But that when something happen that just made everything just go crazy.

As we were sitting talking to Juan, his roommate in the room he was sharing started gasping for air. His roommate had some guest also, I believe it was his daugher and son. Then all these alarms started going off on the monitor they had him on! His eyes rolled back and all the doctors came running into the room. The gentleman in the room was having a heart attack. They cleared the room and even asked Juan to step out with us in the waiting area. He was still in the hospital night gown. I must say I was scared to death. We all were in the waiting room and finally about 20mins later a nurse walked in and said that we were going to have to stay here for a little while because the man who had, had the heart attack died………………………………….
…………

It broke my heart, this was someones brother, sister, father or uncle. Whatever the case, my mind has been distracted every since. Life is to precious for us to waste it on petty things. To not talk to a family member because of something that may have hurt us! I wanted to do some running this evening but I can’t even think straight.

I feel like I need to put this in writing to get it off my chest. Didn’t mean to depress anyone, but this day has ended horribly. I will need to regroup tomorrow. I need some encouragement.

Weekend recap and it’s monday

November 16, 2009

The weekend was pretty fun, one of my friends who I went to school with got married. It was such a beautiful event and her husband (now) is such a cool person. The other fun thing about this is the fact that it was a little like a highschool reunion. I got to see some of my old friends, the gym jocks, the football team, the jerks, the mean kids, the kids that stay to themselves, the hot chicks and every thing in between! I was a little afraid about this event because first of all, my diet. What would I eat, well they serve chicken and veg. that was great. My family was there also so it was pretty cool.

I danced and danced and danced……………………….etc. I got a lot of hey, your looking amaznig, and you lost so much weight! And I was pretty happy about that! I like weddings but I also hate them, because you always have some family member come up to you and say "so when are you going to get married." My uncle even said to me that I was picky, that was the reason I wasn’t married now. I was so pissed with him for saying that but I stayed cool and just responded that I not picky, I am selective! It important to me to find the person who l Love and who love me in return. I said would you rather I just marry the first person who comes up to me and say they like me! No, marriage is something sacred in my family, my parent and grand parents have been married for a long time but it was a lot of hard work! OK, OK…….I vented!

But it was all good and lots of fun, Monday on the other had was good in the gym, did back and it was so pumped especially for a monday. Even one of the train in the gym came up to me and commented on how well I was doing, and she had seen the change from day one until now! She said much stronger, and bigger but waist thining. It made me very proud!

But alas it is monday, and monday’s are crappy! Thank god for tuesdays!

Leg workout and squares on my stomach, What in the heck!

November 12, 2009
Hey all, It been a very eventful day and not to mention I killed my legs doing my leg routine this afternoon. And as usually my favorite friend was waiting down stairs for me to help her up the stairs in my pain in suffering! But for some reason it wasn’t as bad today! I hurt like who knows what but, it felt better.

Before my workout, I went to the trainers office and asked if they could take my bf%. The trainer asked me all the questions like normal and then he took my %. I was so wondering what it would be, as it had been a few months sense I took it. Well to my surpise it was down from 22.3% to 20.8%. I was like, what in the world that can’t be right, but he took it two more times and yep, that my new number. WOOOOO HOOOO! I’m only .8% from being in the teens which is one of my goals! So needless to say I was pretty happy about that.

The other thing that made me say wow was after my leg workout I did my abs routine, and I have been doing my routine now for about 6 weeks. Thanks too steve on bb.com who provided me with a killer routine. After I went down stairs (after I meet my lady and then walked her up stairs. :D ) to change in the locker and shower. I took off my shirt and looked into the mirror to see how my progress was coming. I was like what in the heck, I have squares on my stomach! Wait a second,…………… are those my abs! I haven’t seen them in.., well I haven’t seen them at all! But they showed up for a brief moment after my workout. And tell are square, big squares. I guess I shouldn’t be surpised that they are big squares as I am a giant. (Large Giant, not XL giant! See my last blog)I was even more stoked!

Can you believe that abs, I had given up on those things a long, long, long and I mean long time ago. And here they are working there way though my fat in my belly! I still have a lot of work to do to get them to stay out. But It was a moment that made me smile with pride!

Thought I share my square accomplishments with you all! LOL! :D

Living Large, so to speak!

November 9, 2009

Well had a good weekend, worked out on Friday and Saturday. Rested on Sunday. Interesting thing happen on Saturday night. After my workout I went to meet my sis and her friend to go to the movies. But before we went to the movies, my sister said that she wanted to swing by Macys and JC Penny to returned some items that didn’t fit. So we went over and my sister and her friend went to the returns area to get things all fixed.

So I told my sister that I was going to go down stairs to the men’s department store to do some shopping. I left them upstairs on line and proceed to go down stairs.

I went to the mens section, I not the type of person to just look around. When I go shopping I know what I want and I just get it! So, I went to the sweater section, now normal I don’t were sweaters. Or should I say, I wouldn’t have in the pass as they make me feel huge. But I said it’s getting cold so I need to get a couple of sweaters. So I went to the XL sections and picked out two sweaters that I loved. I asked the sales person if they had a dressing room and she mentioned that it was off in the back.

So I went to the dressing room and asked if it would be alright if I could try on these items. The young man, gave me a room and said that there were mirrors in the room and one on the outside of the room.

So tried on the first sweater, it felt weird, as if I was swining in the sweater. But I said to myself, I have always wore XL, in fact when I was at my max weight I wore XXL. But maybe it was just me, perhaps it fits alright. Let me asks someone else and see what they say. So I step out of the room and there are two workers there and both female and I say would you mind helping me, I need a women opnion. And they said sure, so I asked them what do you think about this sweater. The first girls said, hummm, I think it’s way to big for you, the second said the same. They asked what size do you where, I said normally a XL! They said well, let try on a Large. What that’s impossible, I haven’t wore a large sense I was in high School, I said. So the quickly got the same sweater in large and I went into the room and put it on and came out! They both said, wow! That is so much better, you look amazing! So I said with a smurk on my face. Ok, your trying to sell me on this sweater, they quickly said, no, no, were serious! That large is perfect on you. I was like, wooo! I was at a lost for words. Not to mention that they were both pretty young women.

So I went back in and got the other sweater and said, perhaps the other sweater is a different cutt, so let me try this one out in the XL also. But same old story, the XL was to big. Got the large and it fit like OJ Glove, (LOL!!! ok, it fit perfectly)

I wasn’t convenience, so I called my sister and her friend down and to my surpise they both said the same thing, the Large fits you better. I couldn’t believe it, I haven’t wore large in forever! Even the young lady said, you can tell you workout, and the sweater just show that even better. I was still in shock. But a happy shock! Can you believe that, i’m living large!!! LOL! Litterly :D

I did take some new progress pics on sunday, so tell me what you think. Seeing some progress

Hello Legs!!! Now you both must die!

November 4, 2009

Oh, I wish this blog was about a beautiful pair of legs I saw in the gym today or like those that so many of my fellow bb.com ladies have. (Chicken Tuna) But let me start by telling you about my last week!

It been about a week since I blogged, but with good reason. Last week attended the funeral for my grand Aunt and it was just a sad cold week here. It ended with changing from daylights savings back to being in dark in the evenings. I thought it wouldn’t effect me as much, but it did. I kinda just made me sad and it was a little depressing, especially with the funeral on the previous day! It didn’t however stop me from going to the gym. And boy did I kill my upper body in the process.

There was some good news from my doctor last week as she mentioned to me as I was leaving her office, oh by the way you can workout heavier on your legs. It looks as if you hamstring is healed up and you have full range of motion now!

So today, I set out on a mission to kill myself litterly! My legs needed to die! I did squats(Max out on 375), Leg press (8 Plates) , Leg curls (Max out on 110lbs), leg extension(Max out on 160lbs), calf raises and finished it all up with deadlifts(315lbs High). Oh, I had forgotten the pain that comes along with doing legs! And boy was it painful! My legs felt like lead, I felt like I had fallen to the ground and was using my upper body to drag myself accross the weight room. And that was no help as my upper body was just as sore!

The funny thing is that I always forget when I do legs that I have to walk down stairs to get to the locker room. And believe me I felt every single stair going down! But beside that I always run into the same old lady coming up the stairs after I finish my leg workout who always asked me to help her back up the stairs! (Read one of my previous Blogs) And right on schedule today, guess who was right there. And yes through all the pain and suffering I help her make her way up the stairs. Even though there is a perfectly working elevator in the gym. She insist on walking up, as I believe she want to exercise her legs. Or maybe she just get a kick out of me trying to help her up the stairs while I am all wobblly, like a toddler.

But all in all, it was a fun workout, and yes my legs are killing me, they have disowned me I think because I can’t feel them! LOL!

Inspiring!

October 26, 2009

Well after a wet weekend, in which I attended my first fitness show (Muscle Mania, New York) and took photos there (If you want to see them take a checkout my October 25, 2009 Blogs). But I got home pretty late and decided to checkout what was going on BB.com before I went off into dream land. I also uploaded my photos to my blog so all could take a look! I wanted to check to see if I had any comments on my profile also. But then I noticed something that made me so proud and humbled me at the same time! I had 1 person I was inspiring. I been a member of bb.com for a while and I haven’t had any persons I was inspiring! It didn’t matter to me as I know I have such a long way to go as far as my fitness life is concern. I’ve made some progress along the way, but working even harder now! Now I know it’s not such a big deal to you have about a billion zillion person you are inspiring, but it made me smile and humbled me at the same time.

Here is what the member said and I hope she doesn’t mind that I mentioned her by her profile

1hpygrl - Jeremy’s words of encouragement have the ability to give me strength when I feel weak………… He gives the best pep talks and has a great attitude towards life…………….. We could all use a few more friends like him………….. Thanks jsump2, for helping me keep on track……..

But to 1pygrl, I want to just say thanks you, you and all the other person on bb.com who care, have been such a wonderful inspiration. You can make me smile when I am down, and just lift my spirits. I so appreciate your thoughts, suggestions and helpful words. They keep me going! So you keep up the great work and I will keep up trying to set a good example along with you all!

Also I would like to give a special thanks to Ian (Secondfocus) also! He was so gracious enough to answer some of my questions as far as fitness photography was concerned. And he even took a look at the photos and made comment. So to Ian, Thanks so much buddy!

Thank you to you all!

Muscle Mania, New York My 1st Body Building Show!

October 25, 2009

After a good week of working out and having some fun in the gym. I decide to go and have some fun with my other passion, that is photography. So Yesterday, I decided I would try to attend two things, one of which had a main focus on photography and the other on fitness and photography. I am talking about the PDN Photo Plus Expo at the Jacob Javitis Convention Center in New York and the Muscle Mania Fitness Show in Brooklyn, NY. It was a lot to do in one afternoon. First I went to the PDN Photo Show, and it was amazing! Everything that any type of photographer wanted was there, you could learn about lighting, about cameras, and contact vendors and so much more. For a photographer it like being a little kid in the candy store! So I left all my Credit Cards at home as I did intend on spending any money, on something I wanted rather than something I needed. After leaving the show that end at 5:00pm, I quickly hopped on the train two 25 Avenue in Brooklyn, and then caught a bus to Kingsboro Community College. The show started at 6:00pm, and the bus took forever to come, so I got there late. I had to wait in the rain for a bus, for at least 25min. And It was pooring, but I did have a umbella. Thank God!

Got there and enjoyed and was so excited, because this was a hole new experience for me, there were a lot of Mr. Muscle out there and they all seem pretty nice. I took out my camera and away I shot. Here are some of the pics I took. It was amazing, and please tell what you think. I will blog tomorrow about some the total experience!
