Week 6, Wow! Good News, Great News, and Even Better News!

February 10, 2008

Wow, I can’t believe it been 6 weeks now and my transformation is coming along. It was a funny week because while in the weight room on a Thursday i was doing my bicep routine when I noticed that my shoulders and upper chest are starting to show a lot better! It was funny because I was like what in the heck is that on my upper chest, it felt like a separation of my shoulders and my chest. It been a long time since that has happen. Even one of the trainers even remarked that wow you shoulder are becoming massive.

So that was the Good News, as I mentioned on my previous blog i had been disappointed in my bench lately but this week i was able to push up 225 for 10reps. That was Great News!!!! Even my friend who was at the gym couldn’t even believe it he was like, WOW! Your getting really strong. One of the trainers at the gym even approached me about becoming a trainer. Think about that me as a trainer. That just blew my mind, I was so humbled that he would even say that! He mentioned that he had been watching me workout and my routine and said had I ever thought about becoming a part time trainer. I never have thought about it but it would be cool!

My week ended even on a better note, on friday i was determine to do 275 once on bench as I had did bench on tuesday and got 225 up ten times by myself with no spot at all. Well, my friend happen to be working out that day and he asked if I need a spot. So graciously asked him if he wouldn’t mind.

I put 275 on the bar and started to bench it. First time all by myself, oh my god, Wow all by myself. Second time all by myself. Third time needed a spot and that was it. I know three times is not much but it was amazing to me!

Great week all around and looking forward to week 7, still working on my diet. Had a moment of weakness and caved in on a fudge sunday today. Haven’t had icecream in 6 weeks! But still working on it.

Below some progress photos from week six

re-se-ien-cy:The ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or

February 6, 2008

The ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or Change!. After watching the Super Bowl and watching the Giants win. I have adopted this word as far as my workout and life goes. It’s a amazing word! As I work out in the Gym today it was on my mind and mouth!

I broke some boundary today in my bench press, for the past couple of weeks(misfortune) I had lifted 225 6 reps - 3 set, 5 - 4 set. Today I am proud to say that I got 225 - 10 times in the 3rd set, and 9 reps in the 4th. It was amazing!

My only wish was I had a spotter because I no doubt have 275 at least once if not 3 times and perhaps a go at 315, ya that right 3 plates baby! RE-SIL-IEN-CY!

Even more amazing was for DB Rows on my back routine i pick up 100lb DB to and row it for 10 REPS, YES 100lBS WOW! And it felt lite, perhaps this is all in my head but it felt great! I truly felt the meaning of my new favorite word Re-sil-ien-cy - The ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or Change!.

I will post some new photos at the end of the week!

Thanks for reading and replying Jeremy

What difference a day Makes! And Week 5 and Still Alive

February 2, 2008

Well,

The saying is true, yesterday must have been a horrible day, everything that could go wrong did in the weight room. My thinking was so off! I look in the mirror and said why do I do this, I kill myself in the gym and no results. Even though I knew it was not true but my brain was just playing tricks on me and It was horrible.

Even in the middle of my workout I almost just left! But I finished! Then I felt bad, and ashamed with my thinking!

This morning things were better, I walked in to work and one of my employees said, wow your looking good! You are losing weight. Another cute girl at work said your arm are massive, getting big! Keep it up Jeremy! It was just what I need, then a personal trainer at the gym said during my leg workout that he notice that I had been coming over a month a could see my body was reshaping. And to keep at it!

It bought a smile to my face. I’ve been hard on myself, but need to just take it one step at a time. Progress doesn’t come over night and changes take time. So Im still here, "not died yet, I’m getting better"LOL, and yes what a difference a day makes!

Well, good news: I HAVE COMPLETED WEEK 5 AND GOING TO WEEK 6 WOOOHOOO. I appreciate all the comments and good vibes from you all. And if i didn’t say so before THanks, I truly appreciate it. It’s my force for my workouts, my reason, my encouragement!

Well with that in my here is my week 5 progress photos.

New Pics

Well, talk again in week 6 and all is coming better

Thanks

Calories Question? Help! and Spining into Week 5!

January 28, 2008

Well it week 5 and must say starting to see some more progress. Shoulders and Back and getting bigger!(see Below photo) Legs don’t hurt as much. I think I need to do more cardio. So with that in mind i plan to up my spin class from 2 times a week (tuesday & Thursday) to 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday Mornings). It funny, I thought i would never be able to make these early moring class sense the lunch and evening class seem to alway be full. But I must say that I feel more energized when I do make the early morning class then when i do no class at all. Weird Huh!

I been watching my eating habbits and trying to count those calories. Diet has alway been hard for me but I think i am improving. I went to to this calorie counting site and it been helpful. Also went to a site that talk about my daily needs.

I was surpised that when i entered in my stats (6′ 5" TAll, 279lbs, Waist: 42", Age: 30) They said I should be eating about 4,169 calories per day. Anyone have thoughts on this??? Is that right? Seem high to me, but that what it said if I want to lose 2 pounds per day.

Well, other than that surpise i am still working hard! Trying to stay focus and not get down on myself. Because you know your your woist friend! LOL! I’ve cut out the fast food about 3 weeks ago and seem like I don’t even miss it. It funny!

Well happy working out this week, will post my week 5 process photo at the end of the week! And if any one out there can help out with my above question, it is truly appreciated!!!!!

Thanks and work hard and strong but safe!

My Back in Week 4

Week Four comes and goes

January 26, 2008

Week four was amazing, on my bench press I put up 225LB 6 reps in my second set! I know that not that much for a big guy like me, but I haven’t put up this weight in over 2years now. This is a big accomplishment because when I was younger 225 was my starting point, I used to warm up on 225 and then do a set on 275, 315, and max out on 405. It has been a long time sense I reached this weight, but i’m coming after your 405, just wait and see!!!!!!
Process is coming on well, my back and chest are showing nicely, even through I still need to work on my legs. I did legs on thursday, and I must admit, it hurt like crazy, but the good news is that it did hurt as much as it did last week. Legs are the killer, but if you don’t do them you will end up with this great upper body, and small lower body.

I’m still doing the Spin class, this week was hard because at work there was so much to do that I couldn’t do my class on thursday, but I did get to do it on tuesday. I am going to try and make up for it on sunday afternoon or Monday morning.

My workmates or noticing the difference, they say my waist is getting thiner and I lost some weight. Even though I have only lost about 5lbs.

But i have posted a new progress photo and tell me what you think!

Me end of Week 4

Thanks again, until next week!

One Hole Month, WOW! WOOOHOOOO!

January 21, 2008

Well, it has been offically one month sense I started working out, this is a great acomplishment to me as I am making some progress. I have been doing the spin class twice a week now and It is amazing. Losing some weight and working out hard. Legs were a killer in week Three, but you have to do it. I went online and found a shirt store that makes customs tee-shirts, workout shirts and more. I decided that I was going to make a goal tee-shirt for myself to constantly remind myself why I workout. I’ll have to post a picture of it when it arrive this week so you all can take a look!

I also posted a progress picture from week three in comparison to week one. Well, I hope all will continue as it is, my back has had some problems so watching my workout very carefully. But all is coming along well. The spin class is helping with strengthening my core which is helping with my back!
Well thats all from me looking forward to posting in the latter half of the week!

Week Three and getting Better

January 14, 2008

Well, the dreaded week three has come, dreaded only because that were I stopped last time due to a back injury. I must say that I am getting better (I sound like a line from monty pyton and the search for the holy grail, "I not dead yet, I think I getting better, I think I could Singgg!, LOL)  But seem to be lifting heavier and have added a spin class two times during the week.

Feeling more healthy and working constantly on my diet. The funny thing is I cut alot out, a lady at my job said on friday that I must be serious when I turn down a death by chocolate cake, my fav. I so far lost 3 pound 279 down from 282, not much I know but I working at this real hard….   My goal is to be in the 230 - 40 by june or july. I want to go to the company conference in europe looking about 50 pound liter!

I must say that in week three will start up my leg routine again, which include squats which is what cause me to hurt my back in the first place. I have been trying to workout my back more so I can make sure this doesn’t repeat it self and also trying to work on my core. I am hoping that all goes well.

Well, I talk to you again in week four and post a new photo for progress.

Week Two, and Adding Cardio (Spin Class)

January 8, 2008

This morning at 6:00am I awoke with thoughts of just staying in and working out latter on. But, I got out of bed and said to myself you said you were going to get up and do this class. So I got up got dress and went to the Gym, the Class started at 7:30 and I arrived about 10 mins before it started.

I must say that the class was interesting, painful but interesting. The people there were very helpful and the instructor was nice also and help me out alot. I didn’t know what to expect, but all my friend all said that this spin class is very hard, but worth the Cardio exercise. I completed the class at 8:15 am and must say i was sweating like it had rained in the class.

It did feel good though and will try to do a class on Thursday morning at 6:45am (Dear God!)

But in Week two of my new routine and It coming on well. Made some progress and had some set backs but all in all I was proud that I made it another week!

Can’t wait to get some progress photos up here so you all can see what going on!

The first day of the Rest of my Life

January 2, 2008

Well,

Today is January 2, 2008, and I have picked this day to start what I know is a long road. I have wrote a new workout routine and starting today with the routine. I realize that this is going to be hard and a lot of work.

I am doing afternoon workout, as the morning is crazy for me! But there are two rules that a personal trainner taught me a long time ago.

1 - It a matter of mind over matter, if you don’t mind it don’t matter.

 2 - Weight trainer is not a democracy it’s a dictatorship.

I will be posting how I am doing and any encouragement is appreciated.
