I ran my 1st 5K about 10 months ago, 2 months after I started working on myself. I was talked into a leg of a marathon relay in May and feeling good at the finish convinced my to try for a 1/2. It has been great, the accomplishment of finishing the 1st one was enough to make me want to keep going. I have never been a runner, still don't consider myself one, but it feels great to be able to see what you are capable of out of the gym as well. Lifting would still win if I had to chose, but running gives me a high that nothing else can. I say GO FOR IT!

I say go for the 1/2...it doesn't matter what your time is on the first one; just do it, enjoy the experience. Use it as a bench mark for the 2nd 1/2 marathon...if you do one; you'll do another (lol)

Wanted to check in and see how you did. I'm proud of you! CONGTRATULATIONS!!! :-) But if you keep runnIng and training, building them abs will take alot of in the kitchen action... the GOOD kind, OF COURSE.
I'm looking forward to seeing how far you take this. I might start trying to run some distance myself. Talk about motivation! You've done it for me!
Ok, so now, serious. Those abs. I'm going to kick up my ab workouts so hard after I get back! I can't WAIT to see our progression!!!! Thrilled you suggested the CHALLENGE! Let's DO IT! :)

Way to go!! I so think you should go for the 1/2 marathon...push yourself and see what you are really capable of doing...you will never make progress in you're running goals if you don't push the envelope (so to speak). Get focused and disciplined BIG TIME in the kitchen. You won't regret it in the end...Staci

Congratulations!! That's awesome! I'm doing a 7-mile road race in July that has a killer hill. I worked on that today and realized I need to do a lot more hills! :-) Keep the focus and stay in the zone!!
