Make a Change

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

Hey B Space Gang! Well it has been a while since I’ve had a revelation in my workout/diet routine so I’ve been absent from the blog scene. Finally I have something worth posting. In the last month I’ve noticed a stall in my growth and strength. I was eating right(so I thought) and I was consistant in the gym. So why the lag in my progression? It was getting very fustrating. Well To make a long story short,I had to re-evaluate my entire situation. I came to realize that my two workout partners were slowing me down. So with on confrence call—I cut them off. Since that confrence call, my workouts have taken half the time to complete and twice as intenese. Then I had to evaluate my eating situation. NOT ENOUGH CALORIES!!!! So I started carefully to count my calories more percisely. Now I take in 400 calories a meal and my mix of carbs, protein and fat are better. NOW, i have gone up 7.5 pounds in body weight and my lifts have gotten stronger by the day. Hopefully this is the begining of something good;like me finally getting on stage. One Love!

DEAD LIFT MAX

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

Hey everybody at BodySpace. I have something to report to all of you. Finally, @ a body weight of 190 pounds, I performed a dead lift at a weight of 500 pounds. I never imagined I would ever do any excersise at 500 ponnds. Also that same day, I benched 340 again so you could imagine I was feeling pretty good about myself. One love!

King Chest

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

What up BodySpace folks? Today was my chest day and I did extremly well. I’m not sure where I got the extra strength from today but I was kiling every excersise without breaking a sweat. Here is an overview. 275×10 on the flat bench. 225×10 on the incline. The entire rack on the peck deck for 12 reps. After i finished my chest routine, I found the energy to do 2 sets of 20 reps on the pullups. Damn i felt like a million dollars when I was done.

Double Up!

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

Wow, what a day. Since I missed my leg day on monday due to my gym being closed for labor day, I was forced to do a leg/chest split today. I was a concerned about my stamina holding out but I actually did very well indeed. I maxed out at 460lbs. on squats witch I haven’t done in a long time and on bench I paused repped 335 for my last set. Not bad for a lil chicken leg hard gainer like myself.

Just scratching the surface.

Monday, August 6th, 2007

What up BodySpace peeps? I’m happy to report all has been going well with my newly invigorated workout and diet.  I’ve been pushing myself to get a few more reps in every lift and I’ve been eating consistanly every 2 hours no matter what is going on during my day. The main subject of my blog today is my diet. At my gym there is a body builder there named David Pulcinella. He is HUGE and very knowlegable on every aspect of body sculpting. Unlike some other body builders in my gym he is very approachable and jumps at the chance to asist others in any department of working out or dieting. To make a long story short, he asked me what diet was like for one week. I explaind to him the large quantities of chicken breast, tuna and oatmeal that I consume through out the week. After so proudly describe my diet, Dave revealed to me that what I eat in a week is what he consumes in a day. I was crushed. I thought I was really saying something. Instantly I realized that I need to step my eating game up. I need to get a job on a chicken farm. And then put a pond in my back yard in which I can raise tuna fish. Nuff Said. Now where did I put my shovel?

Day in the Life of C.L.R.

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

Good day to all! I hope that whomever is reading this post has had the pleasure of enduring through a gut wrenching, muscle swelling workout today. I also hope you have been sticking to your diets, maintaining a low body fat percentage, while taking in the proper ratio of proteins and carbohydrates. Well I’ve been asked a few times about what exactly it is I do or did to pack on weight. What I intend to do is give a peek in to what a typical Tuesday is like for me. I hope this helps you or at least inspires you to reach your physical goals.

5am – 6am – Wake up, take care of my hygiene, boil 8 eggs, start my oatmeal, grab 3 chicken breast from the fridge which I prepare my the pack every Sunday, do 4 sets of push ups and pull-ups and get ready for work.

7am – arrive at work, eat my oatmeal

9am – scarf down my eggs

1130am – lunch, which usually is a turkey sub(small)

2pm – Chicken breast and a piece of bread

4pm – Chicken breast and piece of bread

430pm – leave work and drink my no-xplode

530pm – Pick up my son from day care

545pm -   Hit the gym –CHEST DAY!!!!!!!!!!

First routine is Flat Bench – 5 sets 225X12 / 275X6 / 295×3 / 295×3 / 315×1. Every rep is a PUASE REP. My pause is for 3 seconds. Next I do incline dumbbells, cable cross, decline hammer strength and a dip/pull-up combo super set.

645pm – head home, drinking a protein/carbohydrate shake and some createne. Once I’m home, I have an additional chicken breast.

That’s my day in a nut shell. Please give me some feed back. It’s not everyday that I get to stick to my  diet as strict as I would like. Sometimes life gets in the way. I hope this helps those who are looking to find a starting point in their road to becoming that physical beast that they are reaching for. Have a great day/night!

What’s up BodySpace people? Let me say that I am astonished by the shape, conditioning and dedication of everyone on this site. Also it’s refreshing to see people helping other people with advice and helpful comments.  Well My birthday was on June 30th and to my delight I received a TKO home pull-up bar. In a matter of minutes I had installed it in a door way and complete 2 sets. I love this thing. Now if someone would buy me a home SQUAT RACK. J Or a how calve raise machine.

Be on the look out for a video dedicated to my chicken legs.

How did I doit?

Monday, June 25th, 2007

Hello to all the folks here at BodySpace. I hope you are all in good spirits and you are sticking to your diets and to your strict workout regiments. I come to you today because a few fellow gym rats here at BodySpace have asked me what is that got me to sprout from 145lbs. to a healthy 190+. It’s difficult to put into words what it took me to gain mass because the process of discovering what actually is a functional combination of workout and diet to obtain my goals was a long and frustrating journey. But I will try my best to put it in a short condensed passage. For you younger lifters, I suggest practicing proper form from the second you enter the gym. I mean in every lift you attempt, kept it clean; no jerking or momentous lifting. The more control you have of your weight, the more efficient your workout will be and the more you will benefit from it in the end. I can’t stress this enough when it comes to the department of the big 3; Squat, dead lift and bench.  I stayed consistent for years using strict form on the those 3 lifts and it paid off in spades. For a moment, I began to peek or plateau. I couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t progress pass 165lbs. Then it came to me in a Bodybuilding.com article; I wasn’t eating enough are taking in enough calories (good calories) to gain weight. So I started on a chicken breast, tuna and egg white sabbatical. I started eating 6 times a day; increasing my protein intake and managing my carbohydrates intake.  Omega-3 and ZMA became a part of diet and my water intake increased dramatically. It wasn’t easy but I stayed consistent for at least 3 years.  What also helped me is understanding that a good diet takes preparation. Preparing your meals ahead of time and preparing myself by activating the mind set that this diet is absolutely necessary if I want to get bigger. It paid off; my body weight started to gradually jump up and my strength with it. Have you noticed the common denominator here? Consistency. Years of consistency will take your body to where ever you want it to go.

Sincerely Yours

I’m da FNG.

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

Well I set my page up only a few days ago and I must say that I am very impressed and pleased by what I’ve seen and expereinced thus far. Everyone seems very genuine and down to earth. Not to mention focused on improving their physical situations. It’s nice to find other gym rats out there who live for that pump that only can be acheived by hammering sets in the gym. As for myself, I’m the defintion "Hard Gainer". I’m in desperate need of a change to my diet so that I can pack on some solid mass and keep it on. Do you have any suggestions? I’m all ears. One Love and thanks to those who already left encouraging messages on my page.
