How did I doit?

Hello to all the folks here at BodySpace. I hope you are all in good spirits and you are sticking to your diets and to your strict workout regiments. I come to you today because a few fellow gym rats here at BodySpace have asked me what is that got me to sprout from 145lbs. to a healthy 190+. It’s difficult to put into words what it took me to gain mass because the process of discovering what actually is a functional combination of workout and diet to obtain my goals was a long and frustrating journey. But I will try my best to put it in a short condensed passage. For you younger lifters, I suggest practicing proper form from the second you enter the gym. I mean in every lift you attempt, kept it clean; no jerking or momentous lifting. The more control you have of your weight, the more efficient your workout will be and the more you will benefit from it in the end. I can’t stress this enough when it comes to the department of the big 3; Squat, dead lift and bench.  I stayed consistent for years using strict form on the those 3 lifts and it paid off in spades. For a moment, I began to peek or plateau. I couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t progress pass 165lbs. Then it came to me in a Bodybuilding.com article; I wasn’t eating enough are taking in enough calories (good calories) to gain weight. So I started on a chicken breast, tuna and egg white sabbatical. I started eating 6 times a day; increasing my protein intake and managing my carbohydrates intake.  Omega-3 and ZMA became a part of diet and my water intake increased dramatically. It wasn’t easy but I stayed consistent for at least 3 years.  What also helped me is understanding that a good diet takes preparation. Preparing your meals ahead of time and preparing myself by activating the mind set that this diet is absolutely necessary if I want to get bigger. It paid off; my body weight started to gradually jump up and my strength with it. Have you noticed the common denominator here? Consistency. Years of consistency will take your body to where ever you want it to go.

Sincerely Yours
