Definitely Back and a Rant
Wednesday, June 25th, 2008Well I’m back in the gym and things are going great — No headaches, pain, craziness. I’ve increased my weight slightly and decreased my reps. Historically I’ve found that for me it’s the best way to build up my muscle.
Now, what is up with these groups of 3-4 people needing to work out together. It felt like happy hour at the gym tonight. The gym is big there is no reason to cluster around the benches to talk — GO TO A MORE OPEN SPACE. The DB racks are not for sitting on, leaning on and standing in front of unless you taking them to use. Step AWAY form the rack so everyone else can get their own weights without needing to wait for you to either figure out what your doing, finish your conversation, or finish that never ending set of reps you want to do. We all see your arms — now GET OUT OF MY WAY. If you want to flex, go somewhere else (you may have to look at your legs, but you won’t be in everyone else’s way)
And where have all the women gone. I see them on cardio, in spin and in the classes, but avoiding the free weights. They walk in stay for about 5 minutes and leave. The men don’t bite. They usually say hi, and continue about their business (of lifting some weights and checking the Sox score). Please come back it does get lonely occasionally being the only female out on the floor.
I’ll guess I’ll go back to the gym a later time even though I do like going straight from work. Maybe then I won’t feel the need to vent here and be positive and uplifting
