My diet plan for losing 2-3 pounds each week

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

I have received a few inquiries about my diet and exercise regimen.

Here is my diet for a typical day: I stick to this very strictly 6 days each week.  I try to keep the carbs as low as possible.

I boil 8-12 DOZEN eggs at a time and eat them throughout the week.

I eat 12-18 boiled egg whites each day- I dont eat the yolks.

A typical days meals/activity:

6 am: 30 minutes cardio

7 am: 4 egg whites and 4 oz V8 juice, coffee, vitamin suppliments.

8:30 am: 4 egg whites

10 am: 4 egg whites

noon: LUNCH 6-8 oz boiled chicken breast with 6 oz green vegetables

2 pm: 3 egg whites

4 pm: 3 egg whites

6 pm: DINNER
Steamed vegetables

6-8 oz of either
1. boiled chicken breast
2. buffalo
3. poached salmon

4. london broil.

Dessert:
4 jumbo strawberries
OR
1/4 cup fat free, sugar free pudding.

I drink a 1/2 to a gallon of lemon water each day- 2 lemons squeeezed into 1 gallon of water.

I do cardio twice each day
30 minutes each morning

In the evenings I lift and do cardio routine #2 which is 30-45 minutes cardio.

II cheat once a week and eat whatever I want on my cheat day.
I am losing 2-3 pounds each week.

Stay strong and focused!

Staying Committed and Focused through Chaos

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

I am still working at it really hard. My schedule has become really hectic but I am plowing through it.  I have been sticking to my diet, lifting in the evenings and doing my cardio twice each day. Ironically, my gut looks like it got bigger (but it really hasn’t) only due to the fact that my hips and thighs went down. Getting toned.  Biceps and chest have gone up.  Was shocked to see veins popping out of my pecs and biceps- kind of grossed me out but pretty cool at the same time.

Shrinking out of my new jeans and they are only 3 weeks old.  Weigh day this Friday and I hope that the numbers are good.  It would be cool if I can hit the 200-pound mark by July 4th.

This has become more than a lifestyle change for me.  It has become an obsession, a good obsession that I am very possessive about. I am feeding off of my little victories and that is what keeps me going.  I am and always will be my own best competitor- I drive myself really hard. It keeps me centered and focused even when things around me are in chaos.

I keep imagining myself, as I want to be- cut and lean.  Being only 5’9 I know that I am gonna have to get down to at least 175 and then build back up again to see and get the results that I want to have.  I can’t wait to start bulking but that is several months down the road.  I am doing my best to keep my goals realistic one step at a time.

One thing is for certain, I am a hell of a lot better off now than I was back in December when I weighed 270 pounds.

The best is yet to come.

The ZERO is in the right place!

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

The new jeans and belt that I bought got a few weeks ago are now too big for me.

I couldn’t wait until tomorrows weigh in so I weighed in today.

Lost 3 more pounds down to 207 pounds- 63 pounds down to date.

The last 2 digits switched around is what I used to weigh at 270 pounds.

270 to 207, the zero is in the right place now!

Next goal- double ZEROS!

Major Milestone! - Down 60 Pounds!

Friday, June 13th, 2008

Weigh day today at the gym.   210 pounds.  Lost 3 more.  To date, I am down 60 pounds!

Had a pretty rough week pulled a  ligament in my hip, but stuck to my diet and this additional 3 pound loss was a bonus.

Starting to really see and feel the differences. My chest and arms have gone up .  My new 36 regular cut jeans are getting loose.

Losing 60 pounds by August 2008 was my original goal and I beat this goal by 2 months.  I really want to lose another 30 then put on 25 pounds of muscle. This goal is starting to turn into a reality.  Hard to believe that 6 months ago I tipped the scale at 270 pounds.

It can only get better from here!

Another setback- Dammit!

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

I’m having a rough week.

On Monday, I pulled a ligament in my hip doing my last set pressing 550 lbs on the 45° incline leg press.  The pain shot through me like a bolt of lightning.  The pain has subsided over the past few days. This has happend to me before in the past and all I need to do is to take it easy on it for a few days and then work it up again slowly.

Took a few days off to recover. I had to force myself to stay away from the gym- the guilt is killing me but I have to heal first. Its only been 3 days but my body needed the break.

In spite of that, I stuck to my diet along with my 15-18 egg whites each day and have definitely noticed that my gut has gone down and that my chest and arms have gone up. Had to cut a new notch in my new belt and my new size 36 jeans are getting big and really loose!

I’m going to get back into they gym tomorrow and work abs, triceps and chest.  I”m going to give my legs and hips a break for a few more days- then watch out!

Three away from Sixty

Friday, June 6th, 2008

Weigh day today! Good news!

Lost 3 more! down to 213 pounds!  57 down and three pounds away from my next milestone of 60 pounds !

Hard to believe that a few months ago I weighed 270 pounds.

I"m not happy yet- got more to go! My goal is to lose 80 but I REALLY want to lose 95 and then put on 25 pounds of muscle.

I"m gonna do it!

Back on Track

Sunday, June 1st, 2008

Had a rough few days- had to leave the gym on Wednesday, did not feel well and took 2 days to recover.  Turns out that I have a sinus and inner ear infection that threw me off.  Still managed to get in cardio, chest and triceps on Saturday. Weight is still at 216.

Gave myself time to recover and I’m feeling about 90% better.

Start of a new week and I am gonna hit it hard- want to drop more weight, do my cardio and lift every day.

Gonna feel great to get back into the swing of things again.
