My body shut down.

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

I like to work out really hard 6-7 days each week and it caught up with me.

Last night after working my legs really hard my body shut down.

Started to sweat profusely, got dizzy and nauseous.  This is the first time something like this has happened to me. After 30 minutes,  it did not go away. I ended up leaving the gym and going home.

Before this happened  I did the

45-degree incline on my calves

530 Lbs x 20 reps  x 3 sets.

Leg extension 220 x 15 reps x 1 set

                     200 Lbs x 20 reps x 3 sets.

Inner thigh machine- the entire rack

 295 Lbs x 20 reps x 3 sets

Leg press

 310 pounds x 15 reps x 4 sets

Standing calf raises 270 Lbs x 20 reps

        150 Lbs x 30 reps

        100 Lbs x 40 reps

Today I still haven’t recovered- did not work out at all.

I still feel weak and groggy.

One of my BB.com friends checked up on me to see if I was ok and told me to stay away from the heavy weights for a while.

I’m going to stick to good nutrition and give my body a much-needed rest.

Will return to they gym when I feel better.

 Hopefully in a few days.

Going Strong!

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

I am having a great week and am feeling great.  Had to buy smaller clothes went from 44 relaxed fit to 36 regular fit jeans. Broke down and bought a new belt also. It made my family and friends happy.

Early in the week, I treated myself.  I went to a local Chinese buffet and pigged out but only on steamed snow crab, steamed clams (no butter) and steamed chicken broccoli.  Got on the scale the following day and dropped another pound.  Weight is still going down now to 216. Makes me want to work harder each day and improve more.

54 pounds gone with more to go.

Last night as I was in the middle of my ab workout, Bally’s Management approached me and pulled me out of the gym.  As it turned out, the Vice President from Ballys east coast was visiting. Management told him about my progress and the VP wanted to meet me so that I could tell him personally.  What a nice guy to talk to!  What a great motivator! .  Damn did that make me feel good!

I got some great advice from my friends here on new bicep routines along with a new back blaster routine. That’s the new goal for this week.

I have made a lot of really good friends here on BB.com. A big thanks to all of you who continually keep me focused and going strong!  Couldn’t have done it without your support.  I hope that I can inspire you in the same way that you continually inspire me.

It can only get better from here!

In a slump

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

Worked arms really hard last nite.  Woke up this morning and don’t feel anything in them. Not even sore. Wish my arms were as easy to develop as my legs are.  Maybe I am doing something wrong - I don’t think I am but it is always a possibility.

Up at 4 am this morning for 30-minute cardio.

Down 51 pounds and want to lose another 30-40 more and then put on 25 pounds of muscle.  That’s what I have to do to get the results that I want.  My problem is that I am impatient sometimes.  I have the discipline, the desire and I really put the work into it, but I want results sooner than what I am getting them. I feel like I am only ½ way there.

When I go to they gym I notice that a lot of people there only develop their upper body.  They build up their arms, abs and chests but have skinny chicken legs and they look out of proportion. Mine is the opposite.  My legs are developed but my upper body needs a lot of work. I am working really hard at it but want results sooner than I am getting them.

Going to meet with the trainer this weekend. Hopefully I will be put in the direction that I need to go in order to get the results I want.

Still trying to keep a positive attitude and am doing my best to stay focused on my goals. I will have to be more patient and see where it goes from here.

Major Milestone- Lost 50 pounds

Friday, May 9th, 2008

Major milestone!

I hit my 50 pound weight loss mark today.   I have gone from 270 pounds down to 220.

I feel great.

This is just the beginning!

A big thanks to all of my friends here who have continued to support me and motivate me to succeed in my fitness goals.

Each day is a victory!
