I recently heard a report on the local radio station here, about one Judge Young, who imposed a life sentence to a terrorist know as the shoe-bomber. After hearing this speech, I knew I had to share it with as many people as possible, because until yesterday, I had never heard of him or the so-called shoe bomber. Its rather long, so I will only post the link. If you have time please read it. It is from 2003 so it was awhile ago, but it still holds true to its message and its a very important message.

Today was great. I did a group workout on the beach with my trainer and one other person. It included dips, box jumps, side luhges, lateral crawling pushups, sprints, and a squat thrust with a medicine ball which included throwing the ball up as you are in the upward motion of the squat. We did each station for one minute and did a total of two laps foolowed by abs. It also includeda warm up jog and a cool down jog. So far I’ve lost 4 pounds and I have been trying really hard to keep the diet good. I get protien every chance I get to include tuna, protien powder, pasta, turkey burger, and eggs. Also alot of fruit and a high fiber cereal. Working good so far. I’m not sure however how well this will help my 5k time, which is my ultimate goal. Right now I have beeen focusing on stregthing my right knee and dropping some BF so ultimately it will help.

Today I was up and about at 0500. I got to the gym and met up with my trainer and we did about 30 minutes of spinning. Today we had a small group, rather thatn one on one training. Spinning was great, again. After we wanted to run but the weather did not cooperate, so my trainer set up a circuit course. We did ball crunches, jump rope, ball push ups, leg lifts, table jumps, and push press(kind of like a clean and press) Each station was a minute long and it was a great burner. I am looking forward to our next workout and seeing hteresults. I have been doing my best to keep the diet clean as well.

Well I couldn’t figure out the workout racker, so I’ll just record it this way. I did spinning today, at the recommendation of my trainer, as a way to get in some low impact cardio. It was alot of fun and challenging too. I am definitely gonna do it again. I was motivated this morning to get up and find that I lost a couple of pounds also. So all in all it was a good day. Tommorow I am working with my trainer again. She is planning a 30 minute spinning routine followed by a run, so we should be able to get in about and hour’s worth of good cardio. I am still very sore from my Monday workout routine with her, lol.

Recently I decided to gt help in my quest to drop my 5k time and decrease my bf%. My first day was yesterday and we are focusing on rebuilding the strength in my thighs and knees. I recently suffered a sever sprain on my right knee. The Dr.(s) could not decide if it was my MCL or LCL but either way it was the worst feeling I have ever felt.
With my trainer we did alot of bodyweight excercises, without alo of weight. Alot of lunges and squats and a few excercises that required more balance than I was prepared for. But when all was said and done I was wiped out. I hope to make great gains working with her and hopefully in five weeks when I head to NC for a career course I will be in much better shape, if not the best shape of my life. Now, I’m asking myself, why didn’t I get a trainer a long time ago.

It is and has been a goal of mine to increase the amount of pullups i can do. The most I have ever done is 17(max set) and I consistently hit 13-15 when I try to max out. I believe that the only way to get better at pullups is to do pullups; but is there another way?(rhetorical) Pull-ups is just one of those excercises that mentally psyche me out and I know that is all that is holding me back from acheiving my immediate goal of 20. I do workout shoulders and back regularly. I do believe I could improve my core strngth and that will help. But, overall it is mental. I think it is mainly stemming from the fact that pull-ups are a mandatory event in the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test, and because it is testable and does affect my career it causes me undue stress, which in turn hinders my progress. But again, I believe it is mental, because all of my other excercise weights steadliy increase, but my pullups always seem to end up being 13-15. Anybody have some advice?

the last time i blogged was so long ago. more than 5 months to be exact. alot has happened but ultimately I am still pushing for self improvement. I have upped my efforts to include two a days(one weight session and one cardio only session)minimum 30 minute cardio). I am well and I am excited to be trying some new supplements. I’m not big on them, especially since they are not free, but I am always down to find the next best tasting protien. Anyway, god luck to everyone and I’ll see you around.

My recent re-introduction to the lifestyle of fitness has been good. I visted the gym on thursday, but I took friday off due to the soreness.(its been awhile) Saturday I ran a 5k and Monday I got in the gym and did a little warm up on the bike, weights, and 20 minutes of interval cardio that kicked my butt. If I keep this up I’ll fix what I messed up in no time.
