Timepiece change up...
I'm friggin' off today. Not off of work, but rather off my game. I decided to start wearing my watch the way lefties probably should, on my right wrist. I have always worn my watch on the left, but it is really starting to bug me with the large amount of writing I do during the day, so I switched to the right. My right hand feels like it weighs 40lbs, and I'm having hell trying to write. I can't type, and I feel like I'm leaning to the right...I know it sounds crazy, but hell, I'm crazy.
This weekend was pretty fun, notwithstanding having a sick kid. She had a fever and was cranky as hell which made me a tiny bit edgy. We pushed through and everyone is no worse for the wear today. This weekend was a gay pride festival in a local park, and little did I know that they were giving away pink and purple bracelets exactly like the ones that Ava gave me, so I did get some very strange looks while cruising Academy with my wife, child and mother in law while rocking my seemingly innocent bracelets...When I asked my wife why people were looking at me strangely, she responded with, "probably because you're wearing those bracelets, and they were giving them out at the gay pride festival this weekend." She had a good laugh at it, as she knew about it the whole time.  Ava gave them to me, so I'm wearing them with pride...Daddy pride that is.Â

Friday's workout was brutal, as follows:
5:00 on the rowing machine
Movement prep.
Lateral squat jumps 2x6; lateral single legged jumps 2x6 per leg
DB row in t-stand position 50lbs 3x8 per arm superset with plate crunchÂ
DB Split squats 40lb DBs 3x6 + 3 DB split squat jumps superset with physio ball Russian twist with 12lb medicine ball
DB front squat and press 40 lb DBs 3x8 + 4 DB squat jumps superset with physio ball lateral slide
DB Romanian Deadlift 60lb DBs 3x8 superset with physio ball plank with knees to chest; final set was single leg knee to chest--brutal
Foam roller and stretch
I am really sing great progress in my core strength, not just abs, but hips and lower back. It is great, and I haven't noticed any loss in definition or mass, so that's great.
I hope you all have an awesome week. Thanks for checking in with your favorite, OCD, West Texas attorney.

Probably if you didn't wear that major lawyer bling time piece on your wrist it wouldn't be sooo heavy :)
Good thing you were hanging with the wife and kid or you might have gotten more than strange looks lol.
I like the workouts you have been doing, you look like you're definitely keeping the intensity on high.
Have a great day Jason
Yip, the watch should always be worn on the non-dominant wrist. It's less likely to be scratched, broken, and generally getting in the way since we naturally use the dominant hand to perform most of our daily tasks.
The only thing I wear is my watch. I can't stand the feeling of rings (including the wedding ring), necklaces, or braclets so I feel you on the switching arms thing.
LOL, Jason! I'm a lefty and have ALWAYS worn my watch on my right wrist~I get intrigued looks occasionally, but none as intrigued as I'm sure you got with those bracelets! You will get used to your watch on the right wrist...hang in there, buddy! Do the "right" thing! P.S. Nice cufflink & shirt...you look like an OCD attorney! ;)
So you're a Southpaw? Explains a lot......
My daughters have tons of that rubber bling. Gotta have it to be cool at 8 & 9. Called "silly bracelets", or something. Your wife rocks, knowing what the deal was the whole time........LOL.
Hmmmm. That's why you won't catch me with Silly Bands. You're lucky you didn't have to wear them to they gym...HAHA!
I'm a lefty when it comes to writing, but I have always worn my watch on my left wrist. Southpaws of the world, unite!!
lmao....that was way too funny! Hey how is your little girl doing today? Mine had a bad rash from the chlorine at the pool.
Hope lil Ava is feeling better. Love the bracelets...but even more I love that you had no idea. :D Ha ha. Happy Monday...
awe, hope your bambino feels better. and roflmao about the bracelets, at least you kept them on for her. :) btw, i think i might have a xmas present for you... a lightweight kinetic watch from Seiko. lol. Best bang for the buck. ;)
The bracelets are called "silly bands", they come in all different shapes and all school-aged kids are crazy about them in now days. My boys kept nugging me 2 weeks every single day until I got them, now have them all over the place, they play with them, trade them and do anything else you name it.
I'm a lefty and wear my watch on my left wrist.
My kids have those Silly Bands. The glow in the dark ones are the most coveted. Don't trade them away.
nice cuff links!
hmmmmmm the monchers havent discovered silly bands yet, im going to consider myself lucky
great workout!
