What I’m Up To:
Monster triceps workout last night, awesome pump and really got a chance to rip’em up! I felt great I thought my arms were going to explode they were so tight. The diet is back on track and I’ve started incorporating a gallon of water a day. Doing pretty good with the water but I sure make a lot of trips to the john. Oh well thats what you get for the first few days.
Training:
Doing back tonight with Adam. This should be good!

What I’m Up To:
That’s the question I’ve been asking myself for the past week. I was really making great progress and then I started letting it all slip away by making some bad decisions and before I knew it I was a train wreck. I’m busy doing damage control but I was already on a tight timetable and now I don’t know what to do except try my heart out and really go for it.
Training:
Tonight is back or triceps and I WILL do One or the Other! I’ll blog about it just to keep me honest.
Thanks for the support guys!

What I’m Up To:
Been doing real well on my lifts lately. I’ve really been surprised with some of the gains I’ve made. I’m feeling strong and I keep moving ahead, it’s been a real blessing.
Training:
Tonight I squat 300lbs twice. It felt so awesome considering that the squat was at first my weakest exercise. Like I said, I just keep making progress and can’t believe how fast that progress is coming.

What I’m Up To:
Got done with my wedding photo shoot. It went really well and I even had a little fun. I thought I’d be all nerves, but it turned out to be okay. I got back in the swing of things with my workouts as soon as I was done with the whole wedding weekend and now my back is sore to prove it, lol.
I’ve only got nine more weeks to cut and hopefully get down to 190lbs. I’m having my doubts that I’ll be able to make it now but then I’m not giving up either. I will try my hardest to make it on schedule and extend my cutting cycle as needed. As it stands I might miss the mark by up to six pounds. I thought I could cut 2lbs a week consistently but it’s turning out to be harder than I thought.
Training:
Last night was back day. I hefted up some pretty big numbers and I feel pretty proud of myself considering how much my lower back hurts right now. I guess if I’m not hurting, then I didn’t do it right. Tonight is probably going to be biceps and triceps and hopefully some cardio post-workout.

What I’m Up To: Got my early morining cardio in today. More intervals, felt great afterwards. I’m gonna be doing a photoshoot today for my buddies wedding so that should be cool.
Training:
An interval workout this morning and weights yet to come tonight. Don’t have a lot of time to type so I’ll update later.

What I’m Up To:
Got a good rest last night but kinda hit a little lull mid-afternoon. I wish I’d gone into my workout with a little more enthusiasm tonight. That being said, I did very well and got real close to my max bench today; then I hit the dumbells and the other chest movements. Worked out with my buddy Adam, which is always nice. I don’t always have a workout partner, so I take it as a blessing when somebody comes to push me along.
I’m having another good week and my bodyfat keeps falling which is always exciting. I’m making a move on that goal of mine. Still stalking 190 for mid december. It used to seem like another nine weeks would have been an eternity, but now I realize just how short that time really is. Everything is still on schedule though and I only have to lose 2lbs a week and I make it.
Training:
Tonight was chest and yeah it was MAX night so I went all out. Got right back to 250 before I tuckered out. I’m still having a rough time getting past that sticking point, but all in good time. Got too late to do any cardio and still get some sleep so I’ll try and do a double shot tomorrow. Maybe I’ll split it up into two workouts and really fire up that metabolism.
My diet held strong again today. Not that I expected it wouldn’t, but still. I feel I’m doing very well with it and making the strides I need to make, so I’m pretty happy.
Later for now!

What I’m Up To:
WoW, am I glad somebody told me about interval training! Tonight was Hot! I’ve been running for a little over a year now and can run about seven miles before I’m toast, but this, oh wow, this is real pain. HIIT was really putting the screws to me. I told you guys I’d blog about it as progress started happening but I was so excited after I got done. I can’t even remember the last time I had a stitch while running and tonight I thought my heart and lungs were going to explode. Felt so great afterwards though.
If you guys want to learn more about it, let me point you in the right direction and let someone better than me explain it to you. Go to www.loracolson.com and she’ll lay it on you. Best advice I’ve gotten from a BodySpace member in a long time. Glad I actually tried it out instead of just hearing about it and shrugging it off.
Training:
Tonight was great I started off with a few minutes of light jogging to get warmed up and then it was time to hit the weights. It was mainly a deltoid workout tonight, although I threw in about six sets of pullups for bonus. I had a great time, went as heavy as I possibly could and still get in my 8-10 reps. I was really feeling it tonight, and then came the HIIT, again a light warm-up and then it was all out intervals. Best I’ve felt in a long time. Guess that rest yesterday did me some good.
Later Guys,

What I’m Up To:
Last night was a rest day for me and I made the most of it. I got to bed early, I stayed very strict on my diet (seeing how I wasn’t going to be burning anything off), and I slept like a rock! Yay! Overall I think I needed the rest and I’ve been hitting my body pretty hard lately. I’ve now got less than ten weeks to make this transformation happen. I’ll be at 190 T-Minus 67 days. Yep, and if I’m not, then I go until I am. Like I said in my bio, "motivation’s easy, as long as you keep making progress." When you stall out thats when your motivation goes through the floor and holding on becomes hard. So I’m doing everything I can to avoid that.
Training:
I had a BodySpace friend aka. loracolson direct me to her site where I learned all about the benefits of high intensity interval training (HIIT). It looks like my running needs a tuneup. Starting today I’m going to include at least two days of HIIT into my workout per week and then give it an evaluation here in my blog at the end of the next 10 weeks. :Now if I forget, kindly remind me to give that evaluation, lol!: Trust me I’ll remember, ‘Because It’s Going To Work’
Later for now!

What I’m Up To:
In preparation for going down to this year’s Arnold Classic I have started my cutting cycle. I’m leaving just enough time to make some corrections to my diet even if I don’t hit 190 by December. The main goal is for 190 but if all goes well and I hit that goal, then I’m going for 180 by March when I head to Columbus. I’m two weeks into the cycle with ten to go. I’m strong up top and not making any exceptions to my diet or exercise plan. If anything I’m being strict, but I’ve got plans and goals to think of.
Training:
Tonight was Legs and Forearms. I kinda switched it around tonight and did some new exercises; hopefully this helps me give my muscles a well aimed kick in the butt. Cardio usually goes by the wayside on leg day, just because I don’t like to run after smashing my legs, making tomorrow HELL day. LoL Overall my lifts are up and I have been seeing some great transformation in the upper chest and biceps. My calfs look pretty good too. Things I need to keep up on are my upper to middle back. I suffered a minor injury mid-back a few weeks ago and I have been giving it a chance to heal properly.

Had a blast at the Classic! Throughout the weekend I had the opportunity to meet five Mr. Olympias and had the luck to see many more from a distance. The highlight of my weekend was when my idol Franco Columbu was given his Lifetime Achievement Award! The whole weekend was a spectacular experience and I plan on going every year from here on out.
Later Guys,
-Josh
