Fruits in a cutting diet for this hypoglycemic
Thursday, July 16th, 2009After my first phase of my diet where I replaced 75% of my carbs with fruit (namely berries, oranges, apples, grapefruits, cherries, grapes & mandarins), I was successful in dropping 6 lbs after 8 weeks of dieting. Which is pretty much the same rate as I lost on a traditional bodybuilders’ fat loss diet. Despite all the bad rap that fruits get because of it’s fructose content (fructose, by the way, scores in the lower 30s of the GI list, placing below pretty much all the traditional slow-release carbs in bodybuilders’ diets). I refuse to believe fructose is that ‘bad’ sugar. I mean, if you are limiting yourself to a certain amount, why not. It’s not like i am eating 10 lbs of apples. A
I am aware that high fructose corn syrup is like 50/50 sucrose (table sugar) and fructose; I hope it’s name isn’t part of this prejudice.
I have just entered my 2nd phase and hoping to drop down another 5 lbs over the next 6-8 weeks.
Let’s see how it all goes.
Please watch my weekly progress pictures. I shoot for 1 lbs of fat loss a week
