Wrist Straps

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

After going from store to store and gym to gym i have finally found some normal wrist straps. Its like there is a shortage of wrist straps in the  world. I have been praticing using them all over the house (door handles, metal bars, milk jugs, tables with thin legs) and i think i have the technique down pat. I am so Pumped to use them tomorro for my back workout tommoro. Its gonna be awsome!

Cruise

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Well i am officialy on another cruise, this time in Europe. The boat is a smaller version of the one that i took for spring break. So naturally the gym is smaller. It still houses everything i need, (but not neccecerily everything i want) ajustable benches, dumbells 2 1/2 to 55 pounds, various life fitness machines including an exellent pulldown, chest fly, and curl machine and various cardio equitment all with tvs. I currently have one day left on the cruise and it will be an arm day. I am looking forward to getting home, i just upgraded my powerblockset to nintys.

@#$%^&*!

Friday, July 11th, 2008

Recently i bought a cheap 99 dollar bench with bench press supports and a preacher curl attatchment. Once i put it together i was really pumped to try it out. The reason being that i couldnt do bench presses at my house before it. I was having a great time trying out the flat , inclines, close grip, and reverse presses. At one point i was replacing weights. I was trying to take off 3 five pound plates at the same time. Apparently i didnt as good a grip as i thought i did. So the middle plate slipped in between the two others i was holding and dropped right to what should have been the floor but instead was my unsuspecting 2nd and 3rd toes. I let out a small yelp and immedieatly crashed to the floor. The pain was incredible, that tiny five pound weight felt like a 45 on my poor foot. And did i mention i wasnt wearing socks. After several minutes the pain lessened (but did not dissapear) so i sucked it up and forgot about it.

That turned out to be the wrong decision because i am looking at what used to be my 2nd and 3rd toes and they have both swelled up twice their original size and turned a deep dark shade of black.

Only one things for sure

No more calf raises for a while.

Who drives me crazy

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Im not going to beat around the bush, my dietition drives me crazy. Having an eating disorder i have several doctors monitoring me, doing such things as, lowering my protien intake, making me eat "challenges" such as cake, donuts, or candy bars, putting a time limit on my exercise (1 1/2 hours daily), telling me that i cant take suppliments (such as creantine, nitric oxide, BCAAs, and many others), and telling me that bodybuilding is a stupid pursuit, that the people in the magizenes are idiots that dont know what they are talking about, that the industry is crazy and manipulating, and that the studies are fake. In my last session with this dietition she took my meanger 1 1/2 hours and cut it down to one hour. Just let that sink in…

Can you imagine trying to finish warmup, cardio, weights, abs, and calfs in an hour. Neither can i. As far as making any progress, i am officially screwed. I will not give up though, bodybuilding is my love and passion, somday i will be able to choose how long i exercise, what and when i eat, and what suppliments i will take. But for now, i just have to sit here watching the possible progress slip out of my hands.

Power Blocks

Friday, June 20th, 2008

Recently my dad bought a pair of power blocks for our island house (we currently have a bench and eliptical there). I was at first sceptic about not being able to do overhead db tricep extentions or db pullovers anymore. But the speed you can change them makes up for it. I had several great workouts there, i was even able to do legs (though not easily without a barbell). So for anyone considering buying powerblocks, they are highly reccomended by me.

Dogcrapp

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

I have currently changed my training style from high volume and intensity to a version of dogcrapp that i have made. I do one set per exercise, the layout is as follows

work set

15 second rest

work set (same weight)

15 second rest (same weight)

Drop set and work set

15 second rest

work set (using drop set weight)

drop set and work set

Final drop set and work set

This new training method has been working out great for me. My body is constantly in a state of sorness and i feel that with this change of pace i will be able to make new gains.

Notes: On each set i use the max weight that allows me to comlpete no more than ten good reps preferibly eight (i am still learning what my ideal weights are so there is still some mistakes eg. 14 reps on leg press today). I do about eight different exercises per bodypart. The only time i dont use this is when doing calfs, abs, and forarms.
