The Road To Redemption
Sunday, November 23rd, 2008WHEW! Boy am I tired! Not just because it’s late as I write this, but b/c of all i’ve been doing in the past couple of months. I’m really looking forward to pushing myself further into my career with my new business, and i’m so excited about what’s in store for me. I’ve built a solid reputation here in NJ as a Personal Trainer, and i’m starting to delve into other areas of training, which will be a great and natural move for me. I’m hoping in Jan. to partner up with a world class fighter ( who for now will remain nameless ) in a gym to train MMA fighters here in NJ. MMA is an area I have a keen intrest in since training in Muay Thai for a little under 2yrs. I loved it, and I want to continue to do more with that. Details will follow soon!
In 2004, while prepping for a show at years end, and hoping to quailfy for Nationals, I blew my back out. Not one to half-ass anything, it was really bad. I never competed after that accident, and am always recovering it seems from it. I want to finish what I started though, and that’s why i’ve started my " Road To Redemption". I’ve contacted and have begun assembling a strong core group of people to help guide me through to show again in 09′! A good friend of mine turned pro last year ( Jessica Rohm ), followed by Vinny Galanti; Carlo Fillipone, and more recently, my dear friend Elena Seiple ( CONGRATULATIONS!). Being an NPC judge, and having all of these pros around you, makes you want to push hard! Not that i’m looking to turn pro, but I can’t be the only person on the panel that kicks ass! I did place in the top 3 before when I did show, but I don’t even count that at this point as it was so long ago, and i’m so different now.
So, wish me luck as I get ready to hit the stage again! I’m also training two girls this year that are sure to do well ( GO MEL AND LAUREN! )! They’re workout partners at my gym, and i’ve been feeding them routines for a while now, but they want to hit the stage and have asked me to change gears for them, and help them hit their goal of competing. Hopefully 2009 will be a great year for my athletes; myself; Formula One Fitness and I hope everyone training hard at BB.com!!
