We got our picture published on pg 46 of the October 2008 "Feedback Section" of Flex magazine - just saw it today - what a hoot!!! We’re 3 for 3 now - "FitnessRX for Men" and "Muscle and Fitness" did the same for us a few months ago. It’s a lot of fun and the ultimate in "showing off" - hehehehehe. It was a picture from last year though - they’d been holding on to it for a year, waiting to put it in a "Military Muscle" version of the feedback section. We’re going to send our latest pics from this year’s recent vacation to the magazines again to see if they’ll repeat.

Diane’s been trying very hard to create 6 pack abs - seems that volume is the key. She’s increased her crunch routine (on a swiss ball and incline bench) to more than 300 per night and starting to see some serious definition. Abs are so very hard to create but looking at pics of people on here, a great set of abs truly makes everything else look even better. Some of these women on this site have some incredible ab definition. With guys, they seem to come easier. John was able to carve out definition more quickly (again, using high volume crunches). We also recently purchased a tread mill to compensate for the times when we can’t get outside and do our usual cross-country hike - it rains a lot here. The cardio portion plays a large part in reducing bodyfat and exposing the definition we’re both looking for.

We’ve tried a lot of the fat burners out there - hydroxycut, hydroxycut hardcore, lean system 7, ripped fuel, Meltdown etc. We ordered (and recently received) Isatori’s MX-LS7. We’ve taken these for a couple of days and thought we’d be immune to this stuff by now but we’re pinging off the walls. On one hand, at least we know SOMETHING is working to raise the metabolism but not sure if we want to be this wired up. It sure comes in handy when working out though -we’re very focused. We think this one may have some value if we can get over this intial feeling of weirdness. Fat burners play a part in our program but only to get that an extra calorie burn - that slight edge to our program. We know a lot of people that have bought and continue to buy the "magic bullet", thinking that’s all they need to do. It’s just another component of our overall program - probably not even really necessary but helps the pscyhe a little. Plus, once we’ve paid so much money for the things, we’re more motivated to keep eating clean and exercising. Otherwise, we’ve wasted our dollars. This is an added benefit, I guess. We definitely recommend some sort of quality fat burner as an addition to the program, providing you don’t expect them to perform miracles.

Big eager booster and motivator - we’ve sent pics to three magazines over the past 6 months - the "feedback" and "letters to the editor" sections. Muscle and Fitness published one of John (see attached), Fitness RX for men published a pic of both of us a couple of months ago (same pic as our profile pic), and now FLEX is going to publish one in an upcoming issue. We’re three for three so far - it’s fun to do and we’ve been lucky so far. I guess because we’re the "older" couple, it makes us more likely to get published. This is just another avenue to show off - very shallow of us but still fun. Give it a try and see if they’ll publish yours! You’ve got nothing to lose.

We have to admit, this is the first time we’ve ever "blogged" - guess we’re old foggies or something but suppose we should catch up with the rest of the world and start blogging for anyone interested (probably nobody). We’ve been on this site now for just a couple of days and we’re completely amazed at the stories and the inspiration we’re getting from others. We’re usually both highly motivated and now we’re even more fired up from seeing and talking with others on this site. We’ve asked a couple of questions on the forums and immediately got very useful help and advice. The COOL thing about getting advice here is that their profile pics pretty much tell it all - if we ask a question about supplements and get a response from someone who looks like Jay Cutler, that’s pretty much proof positive that they know what they’re talking about. Anyway, this is our first blogging attempt - kinda lame but maybe we’ll get better in time.
