portion control is the key
Well after trying to eye ball my portions and not journal my food intake I have not lost any weight in the last couple of weeks. To write down every thing you are eating is very important and makes it real.
Starting today I began
I find stress of my job and shift work has a impact to my diet. When I am stressed…I turn to food. One thing I have found is when I journal I don’t cheat. Could it be that if it is on paper it make it real? I think it does.
I really think the key is not to get in a rut but after that bad meal is to get back to eating the write foods right after.
I am starting back on night shift tonight…eating the right foods, writing down what I am eating again and working out hard. I have to do this for me because with out me….there is nothing!
Stay tuned!

While I’m on the "other side" (trying to gain), I agree totally on keeping a journal of what goes in. I’m marking every calorie and every gram of protein because it’s the fuel for the machine. You expect a Hot Rod with an empty gas tank to go anywhere. Likewise whether we’re trying to gain or lose, we must fuel the machine properly to get the expected results.
I think realistic expectations are a part of the equation, too, though. I’m probably a VW trying to look like a Mack Truck. No doub I’ll never look like Ronnie Coleman or Jay Cutler, but I can put some muscle on this skinny frame and you, well, you have already knocked 70 pounds off your frame. Fantastic inspiration and example of someone taking their body and recreating it. Kudos.
