Here we go again. . .
I utterly hate writing the types of entries but I feel that I could really use some support at the moment. I feel like I am bitching for nothing b/c I KNOW what I need to do. The same problems everyone has, I have, probably even less. I work at 8 and have to be up at 5:30 to get ready and wake up my ride b/c I have a 70 minute ride to work. I just started my master’s degree online and I also am in the middle of doing community service for a DUI.
My dilemma is basically scheduling. Work/school work/community service/gym. How do you guys fit it in? I also am about to start doing a lot of cosmetic work on my house and a girlfriend I love very much and need to spend time with who also has her priorities. SO how do you guys fit it all in??? What do you do, what is your training split like, hw many muscle groups a day, what kind of programs are you on? Let me know b/c I am trying to figure out something that works.
My diet at the base is very good. HOWEVER, I am struggling with cheating frequently with candy lately. I think the lack of self control is contributing to stress. Other than that I am getting my protein/carb/fat intake pretty good, so that is a bright spot. I am starting to put weight on again though, and not the good weight.
My Needs:! Here goes. . . cut fat but not lose mass or strength, increase stamina.
Problem: I tend to spend at least 60-90 minutes in the gym lifting when I lift averaging about 24 sets a workout and typically get a little ab work in also.
I need help, advice and some tough love. I’d like a workout partner but this (bodyspace) is about as close as I can get right now.

Man, I wish that I can say it gets easier; however, the demands of being successful in one’s career, raising a family, and continuing one’s education will always be difficult to deal with. Without going into my schedule, let’s say that many people deal with this. I make sure to train no more than 1 hour a day and make sure to incorporate compound movements into every training session. I try and make sure to limit rest (unless I am trying to increase lifts) time. The secret, however, is packing meals and eating correctly.
That’s my short story…Wish you luck in all of your endeavors…especially your education as that will pay off big time in the end

A bench and a few weights at home can really go a long way. My gym is pretty darn close but it still adds 20 minutes total.
Pre-packing meals is a definite must! Good luck!

Thanks Damien. I have a bowflex at home and a somewhat adjustable bench. I still have to get the dumbells. I get nothing out of the bowflex b/c I simply don’t have the patience. I definitely prepack meals for work. I run into trouble on the weekends, partially b/c I am so busy on the weekends.
In other news, got up at 5 yesterday and hit the bowflex for a half hour (not satisfying but I got it in). Today, got up at 4:45am and hit the gym for a 45 min back workout. Still need to get used to getting up at that hour, but it was a small success and a pretty good workout.
