So last night I wanted to see where I was with 1RM w/deadlifts and I really think I could have done more, but by rep 4 my fingers were slipping. I think I really need to work on grip strength.. any suggestions? Never thought that this would be a problem - learn something new every day!
Thanks - PorkChop

Ok, so I have something to confess…. I am soooo incredibly intimidated by chin ups/pull ups. #1) I have bad shoulders that are better than they were, but still are kind of weak so having the arms in an extended position - not quite so easy…. and #2) well… I’m just scared of those exercises lol. BUT today I tried a modified version of a chin up - used the nautilus machine raised to a level that i could jump to (don’t laugh!).. managed to pump out 2 and maybe 3/4 chin ups… one at a time. Kind of disappointing that I couldn’t do more, but I guess I have to start somewhere.

So I didn’t do toooo bad yesterday, but I didn’t do too well either. I set my alarm, and I’m pretty sure I turned it off in my sleep, bc I slept in and missed my workout. Tried to eat more Turkey than anything and only had small portions of other things (e.g. Gma’s mashed potatoes, which I know are doused with salt, milk and butter). But my water intake was low. And I didn’t eat every 2 hours. Its getting to a point though where my stomach doesn’t know what to do with all that "other stuff". Its kinda weird. But it is true… once you eat clean for a while, most things start to seem discusting, mushy and too salty/sugary!
Def making up for yesterday, today! Gonna sweat til I got nothin left!

My motto is ‘if you can still move, you haven’t worked hard enough.’ So am always sore the next day (don’t worry - I get rest!) and I love it b/c then I know I didn’t cheat myself. But I didn’t know if I should add in more stretching/supplements/? to help me to recover faster. What are some recovery ideas? I take an Amino supplement pre and post workout, drink a gallon of water daily, get 7-8 hours sleep 98% of the time. Anything beyond that that I can do?

Ok, so I am trying to build my legs - esp. my hams. But when I do laying/standing hammy curls I get a feeling in the back of my knee that feels like my knee is going to pop, like a muscle or ligament gets caught on a bone and in order to complete the normal ROM, it has to go over this bone.. which isn’t too pleasant. It gets increasingly more painful (I only tried to push through it once and decided that was a bad idea)… How do I get over that? My leg workouts include squats, weighted box step ups, lunges, leg ext, leg press… should i increase those workouts and stay away from leg curls all together?? HELP! Not sure what I should do!

Soooo it’s taking me a while to get into this new diet. I haven’t weighed in a while, I havent been in my house long enough to do it! I have noticed that my abs are looking better, esp. the lower abs. Can actually tell that I have them! They aren’t quite a 6 pack yet. I am also thinking about getting a second membership to another gym.. that way when I stay over at my bf’s house, I am work in my AM cardio. I think that would make a world of difference. Other than that, no big changes.

Soooo this eating super clean/cutting diet is tough! Like really tough. I made it through half of last week and then lost it…. So I am going to start back on it this week… Any suggestions/ideas for helping me keep it clean? Its so difficult when I’m cooking for my bf or when eating around other ppl when we’re out. So its no joke when they say if this was easy everyone would do it!

Things are going good. My weight is definitely reflecting how ‘not clean’ i was eating! And I thought I was!! lol (I will update my stats later) I am eating really bland foods, cut out salt, added more vegies and cardio, as well as drinking a full gallon of H2O daily.. before I was drinking prob half to 3/4ths of a gallon. I can def tell my body is still adjusting to it though. I am a little shakey, and hotter (I know that sounds weird) - it feels like I’m burning more calories.
The plan is to take some pictures this weekend. Tonight is my first carb load meal. I can’t wait!!! lol ChickenTuna, props for living the lifestyle you do! It’s harder than I thought - and I’m only a few days in! :\
More updates later.

Yesterday I started my new program and new supplements. I added a fat burner back in as well as a couple other things and I can’t tell ya how much energy I had yesterday! I felt like I was bouncing all over the place! So much so that my coworkers were like "OMG" and took my blood pressure - I am normally around 106/64 and it was 130/90…pulse was a little high, not bad though. I also ate more yesterday than I ever remember eating in my entire life and I didn’t feel fat, bogged down, nothing like that. Crazy stuff! Didn’t do any cardio yesterday though b/c of how jittery I was. So far so good. Lets see how today goes!
