Is a 2-hour workout too long?
I don’t know if I’m taking too long periods to rest, but 2 hours is what I took to do my chest workout. In all, I have 41 sets in my workout. Assuming 1 minute per set, it means I take an average of 2 minute rest in between sets. I think I should speed it up but I hate timing myself and I hate going against the clock, I feel it takes the fun out of it. Honestly, it doesn’t feel like I’m procrastinating of avoiding hitting the next set.
The instant coffee (~150mg caffeine) is working pretty well as a pre-workout stimulant, much better than the No-Xplode! I cycle coffee every month to avoid building a tolerance to caffeine. It’s dammed hard to survive the afternoons on odd months when I have to pass on the post-lunch cup of coffec LOL. Now I’m eagerly waiting for the epinephrine I ordered to arrive in the mail. If what people say about EC stacks is true, it should give me a great boost for the workouts. We’ll see.
Although no one approach fits everyone, from my experience two hours to do a chest workout is probably too long. I often spend 2 hours in the gym and in that time I can do 2 or even 3 bodyparts, and by 'do' I mean work with intensity, hit them hard enough to feel the burn and pump, and generate DOMS over the next 48 hours. The trick is to use the right exercises, weights and rep schemes to work the muscles to failure and then some. I can accomplish this for chest in as few as 9 sets most workout, but often I'll do as many as 15 sets. And I hate watching the clock too, I'd say I rest at least two minutes between sets. It takes experience to learn how to train efficiently, I have learned over the years that quality is better than quantity. Keep working at it!
I tried to post my workout but I must be too dumb! My routine is just a bunch of push-ups and bench presses, spiced here and there with shoulder shrugs and some triceps extensions. I only go to failure with the presses. The DOMS are guaranteed LOL
If you're able to keep anything up and put it along, it truly is calledweight-lifting; if you can keep anything up but can never place it along,it really is referred to as burden-bearing. Pitifully, most of people are bearing heavyburdens when they are in enjoy. http://www.twojordan.com/
