Make up day

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Todays deadlifting went a little better than expected. Last time I deadlifted, I did not feel particularly strong and did not lift very heavy. Today I pulled up to 385 and felt very good doing it. Felt like I had a little left over. Thats ok, I`ll save that for next deadlift day! Which I already am looking forward to. This mekes up for the benching I did not feel good about on saturday.

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

3rd to last workout in bench program. Did not go well. Did 2 @300 x 3 and 2 @ 320 x 2 ok. Next up was a 340 x 1. There is where I failed. Will drop myself down 1 line to finish strong. I would like to abandon the program immediatly, just dont like to leave any project incomplete. Dont like doing things "half-assed".
I have been invited to on Lake Erie again this year! It will interupt the 5×5 I am starting March 2. But I am used to minor glitches in my programs. Hope to come back with a bunch of great tasting protien anyway!

Trapezious is improving all the time. Mostly just some tingling in the delt remains. On track with the bench program. 3 workouts left. Then on to the 5×5. (probably)

Better days ahead

Had second chiro visit friday. X-ray showed spine curvature in my neck. He wants to get that aligned properly and hopefully that will get rid of the discomfort in my trap. He figures 9 visits, including 3 this week will get me back on track.
Speaking of being on track, I have at least been able to stay on course with my bench press program. Went from the chiro`s office to the gym (dont tell him). The workout went good. Did all reps including a neg of 350. Did a few tricep pushdowns and went home. Did biceps, abs, and calves after work yesterday. Today was the rough day. Leg day started with squats. Immediatly could tell I lost strength when I only got 9 reps at 275. Did 4 sets only to 325. Leg presses went to 605×4. Leg ext., ham/glute ext, and leg curls rounded out training. By this time I was gassed.  I`m also down a pound or two.
I was not too happy with all this at first. But I`m back in the gym so I`ll quit whining. It could be a helluva lot worse.
Still shooting for a march 2 start to the 5×5. I`m excited about this program.

Improvement

Feel lots better after a visit to the chiropractor this morning. Have another appointment friday. They took x-rays today, so doc wants to go over them and see what else needs to be done. I`m going to take off from the gym today yet. But hit it tomorrow. Cutting this short, feel discomfort from looking down to type this.

Went to the gym on friday and did my bench workout and calves. Seemed to go well. Gave my shoulder (trap) the weekend off anyway for more improvement. Unfortunately, I really dont feel any better than I did friday morning. So I am going to make an appointment to see a chiro in the morning. It hurts to just sit here and type this.
