New pers. best!

Set a new personal best deadlift tonight. Did 340 x 8 reps. Then 340 x 7 reps. Went up to 370 and got 4 reps. Was going to go to 390, but found myself grabbing a plate and thought what the heck, give it a try. The first 3 or 4 inches up were extremely challenging, but completed a 410! My previous best was a 405 15 or so years ago. Since my personal best has been matched on the bench also, my next goal will be to get my squat back to the 405 it used to be. I`ll need more protien!

Deadlifts started out back day today. Last time I did deads, I did 375 x 2 reps for my last set. Today it was 390 x 2 reps for my last set. I think I may have been able to get a third rep, but was loosing my grip. Knurling on the bars at the gym are a little worn. I will not resrt to wrist wraps. I have never used them because I think they compromise grip strength. Bars with deep knurling give me no trouble with grip. So I know my grip strength is not an issue.

To get big, you gotta lift big!

I`ve had people come up to me asking how they can get results like mine. They workout, but dont see results that they think they should be achieving. So when I try to tell them what I do, I can see the "yea right. It`s the steroids" in their eyes. When I try to explain that I am clean, They just nod and walk away. I will repeat what I`ve seen here before. Everyone wants to look like a bodybuilder or a superstar, but nobody want to lift HEAVY ASS WEIGHTS!

It`s raining!

The rain kept me from cutting wood today, so the gym got my full attention this morning! I thought I would have lost a little strength in my absence. But I ended my deadlifting with a set of 375 x 3 reps. More than my last session of deads more than 2 weeks ago. I hope it rains tomorrow, chest and tri!

Still can`t get back to the gym. Starting to notice a little loss in mass. Landowner informed me yesterday that he wants the entire fencerow removed, and it sounds like soon. Cannot pass up all that "free" wood. ( It`s not free, chainsaws and truck need fuel and repairs) Forecast is for rain on wednesday. If so, then its off to the gym for back day with deadlifts!
