Got a couple things to add in the morning. But otherwise the camper is packed and I`m ready for a week of deer hunting. The sooner I score, the sooner I get back to training. But will enjoy whatever time I get in the woods.
Our deer hunting camp will soon die out. My dad started our current camp in 1972. We had as many as 18 people at a time in this camp. This weekend there will be 2 of us. Sad to see the old camp die out. Maybe a new tradition is on the horizon somewhere.

Was not in the mood to workout AT ALL yesterday. Being leg day, made for an even less than desireable trip to the gym. Forced myself to go anyway. Declared it a light and easy day. I only went up to 275 squating but made sure I went ATG. On to leg press and only up to 555 here. Last but not least was one leg leg curls. Called it quits here. Today I have DOMS like I went super heavy! Was not expecting to be so sore after an "easy" day. This is telling me something. What exactly, I`m not sure. But I may throw in an "easy" day again someday just to see what it does to me.

No skinning today. So I got in some chest and tri at the gym. Planted more steel this morning and will get more out tomorrow. Great to be outdoors!

Completed my week as scheduled. Had to force myself onto the treadmill tonite, but did almost 30 min. of HIIT once there. Start trapping in the morning. If you have never run a trapline, tag along with a trapper some day. You just might get tired from watching them! I have lost up to 20 pounds in just a few weeks of trapping. That was before i owned an ATV. But still is very physical work. Will still hit the gym whenever possible. (Some days there is just not much skinning to do!)
Oh yea, picked up a verbal commitment for sponsorship for my April show! Came as a surprise, as I was not the one to ask. A personal trainer asked her as I came in for my workout. That makes 2 probable sponsers in a week!

I am laid off this coming week. So I will take advantage of the extra free time and workout twice a day. This before trapping and hunting will keep me mostly away from the gym. Should be able to get abs, calves and cardio in 2-3 times this week. Stuff that is neglected the most.

I heard a hint of possible sponsership if I do the comp in April. So that will probably ice it. I will hit my first stage this coming spring. This will give me a little time to bulk before cutting starting in January. I will likely compete in the masters division, novice division, and mens open division.
This will be an interesting journey. Carla, I may have a lot of questions for you!

Found out there is a natural show less than 20 miles from my house. Its in april, which would give me a few months of bulking yet. I should. I think I will. Just not sure I will be able to handle the rigorous dieting in the cut phase. Only one way to find out.
Sure would like to talk my 19 year old daughter into the figure comp. She would be perfect for that.

Went and watched a bb and fitness show last night. First time seeing one. Showed up a few minutes late for the prejudging. Already in progress when we sat down, my first thought was "is this really what I want"? After a while, it kinda grew on me. Especially after I saw that it appeared I had more mass than anyone in the masters division.
There was one young woman competiter that really dropped my jaw. Her quad mass put mine to shame! It was a natural comp, and she was only 20 years old! What potential!
There are a couple comps in april around here. Guess I just need to work up some courage.

The new bar came in yesterday. It is a little more flexible than the other bars and weighs 44 lbs. The knurling was not as deep and sharp as I expected, but had no problems with grip. Broke it in the right way. Did deadlifting and ended up pulling a personal best of 414. The more weight I added to the bar, the more I could feel the flexibilty at liftoff. No doubt the flexibility helped at the liftoff. None the less, happy to finally move up past an 8 plate lift.
Elbow has been a roller coaster ride, but mostly favoring improvement. I`m sure I will continue to improve.
