Sick!

blech.

i’ve got the worst head cold E-Ver.  husband left town yesterday and my semester started this week.  i’ll have time to get to the gym despite taking five courses and completing 10hr/week at my practicum site.  it’s going to be one crazy semester (have to apply for practicum settings for next fall AND i applied to possibly transfer to a school near where my husband is living and working), but i’m up for the challenge!!!

btw–i’ve been logging my diet in a notebook rather than typing it up here everyday.  still have some not-so-great days here and there, but overall it’s going well.

but i’m a little freaked out… i heard high protein diets can cause kidney stones??!!! ewwwww!  i am TERRIFIED of anything like that forming in my body!!!!  anyone know if this is true???

Thanksgiving weekend?

so, i think i’ve gained ten pounds since Thanksgiving day! LOL I ate SO MUCH from Thursday through Sunday and NOT clean eats by any means.  My husband was here visiting, so we ate out for practically every meal.  We only get to see each other once a month, so I allow myself to cheat during those times.  This helps me stay on track the weeks he’s not here.

So, time to whip that diet back into shape again!  Be on the lookout for a blog from me tomorrow.  I’m not feeling so well in the tummy this evening, and I’m hoping it’s just an intestinal reaction to all the unclean food I ate the past four days and not a virus!!!

Ugh… not too happy w/the progress photos

so, i’m not so happy w/my progress photos this month, which is real discouraging.  i don’t think i look muscular; all i see is fat and jiggle wiggle. i don’t think i’ve made much progress at all from last month, which surprises me b/c i’ve increased my weights, decreased the amount of cardio i’m doing, rearranged my diet, etc etc.

whatever.

i’m super discouraged right now…

Busy as a Little Bee

Sooo, I am proud to say that on top of working on a custom order of 900 yds handspun/handdyed yarn, researching for two upcoming presentations and a paper, getting my CV together, and amidst the application process for my community practicum I have been eating WELL!  AND my workouts have rocked.  I’m def on the tired side, but that’s to be expected.  I’ve switched around my meals a bit, and have been drinking Muscle Milk mid-day and eating some oatmeal before the gym instead.   It seems to be working really well thus far.  I will get on top of writing out my exact intakes again, but it might not be until things slow down a bit.  i am one busy girl right now.

oh, and my husband comes in to visit this weekend! SO excited am i!  (for those of you who don’t know, we’re living apart b/c i’m doing my doc studies and he’s got a tenure track position in Reno, NV).

anywho!  i’m very tired tonight and MUST get some good rest.

will write again soon!

Midterms Over!

zoot-a-zooot!  midterms are officially over :D   Meaning it’s time to get back on track with the diet.  Have to eat dinner again.

I’m sitting here eating some oatmeal with protein powder and will go to the gym in a little bit.  It’s going to feel GREAT to sweat off the stress from this week!

Agh! midterm week is here and i have been slacking with my blogging here.  but just to give you all a run-down of this week so far– workouts have been good, except today i did the same leg work with the same amount of weights as last week, but i’m not sore at all.  i don’t like that!!!!  grrrrr…

eating has been going well, overall…. more good days than bad.  but i’ve been crashing in the late afternoons (i’m guessing it’s a stress thing right now), and my dinners have been little snacks here and there.  everything’s good and clean, but prob not enough this week.  this is what happens to me when i’m stressed…. i unintentionally restrict.

and the H20 has been an ongoing issue.  there were a couple of days i drank the entire 2.5L, but otherwise, nice try ;P

i’ll be around more next week once this week is done and over with!
