So pissed

I got so pissed lately. I am doing my best and all of a sudden I lost all motivation… it just flew away. I lost track of my diet, I got sick and missed a week of workouts. Now I’m finding it hard going on my own to the gym. This sport is sooo lonely. Its raining everyday which is giving me such bad spirit and its hard leaving the cosyness of my home to go alone to the gym in this frickin weather. I know you’ve got to shut up and just do it and nothing is just handed to you easily, you’ve got to work hard. But I feel lost, I was doing great with the diet then I read that your body then gets used to it and slows the metabolism down. Then how am I supposed to keep the metabolic rate high up? My friend bodybuilder told me to do a cheat meal once a week… like eat a pizza. But I feel like throwing away a whole week of sacrifice. …I feel confused :S

What i do when i am not motivated is read up on nutrition. This web site has alot of good information on Carbs, proteins, and Fats Metabolism. (learn how each of these foods are Metabolized)
I find by doing some research or learning on the subject transformes my mindset. When i loose intreast i also like to try new exercises. (find one that you have never done before) I am doing one now on Passive insufficiency training. Use the internet and look for new things to do.

If your diet is clean, then your metabolism shouldn’t slow down because you should be eating plenty, just the right foods. The metabolism slows when someone "diets" by severely restricting their food intake & calories. And yes, a cheat meal a week is good to make sure the metabolism isn’t slowing on you. Or, if for no other reason, to keep yourself from getting to the point of having a major binge catastrophe when you do finally succomb. GOOD LUCK!

Whoa, this sport ain’t lonely, we are almost 300 000 at bb.com who play the iron game(cause a game it is, no more, no less). Motivation is like a tide, it foes up and down, but it accomplish so much if you just give it the time.

Write down numbers, take pictures and share you tought with people who play the same game. If you’re just starting, keep it simple, don’t fret over details, just eat better than you did before, train harder, and results will follow.

I don’t exactly eat well all the time, I don’t train as long and as often as some people do, but over the course of two years, just eating better and training harder as given me some result that I can be pround of (and my friend jealous of… which in turn, strangley enough, make me prouder).

When motivation goes down, I look at the picture I took two years ago, if that isn’t enough, I look at the weigth I used to lift and if that still doesn’t do it, I just think about the last remark my girlfriend made about my body. One way or another, motivation always come back!

    Smile and enjoy the game!

Hang in there. Everyone that is a part of this lifestyle has times that they struggle with motivation, training, nutrition, etc… Especially during winter months when the sun doesn’t grace us with it’s rejuvenating rays. Don’t quit yourself. Fight the urge to focus on negativity and instead use that energy in a positive way for yourself. You’ll find yourself feeling better, and getting to the gym a lot easier. Good luck through these hard times, and remember you’re not alone.

wow thank you for the advice and support. I guess in the beginning when you’re not used to these things its a tad hard. Thats why its cool having people around you talking about it and reading about it truly helps. I’m really in the learning stage and not seeing any results and craving the food sucks but i’ll get to it hopefully. Being pissed made me train harder and I cannot wait to start another week tomorrow! Tnx again guys xxx

Whenever I loose motivation because of a lack of results, I do research. I find out what I can do to get better results. Start reading on the right way to diet. Plan our eating habits. Don’t find yourself 3 hours without eating and wondering what you should eat. Having a plan will make the biggest difference. A cheat meal a week works. There are a lot of diets out there, but what I find works for me is a controlled, balanced diet. I eat 30% protein, 40% carbs, 30% fat when trying to build muscle, and 40%prot, 30% carb 30% fat when trying to burn fat, give it a try see if it works for you. And it’s not just eating the right numbers, remember food has different quality.

I read your goal, build muscle and burn fat. You should do those one at a time, First burn fat OR build lean muscle. Only at the beginning will you see results where you can get both.
