Finer things in life…
Monday, May 25th, 2009I just got back from a nice,relaxing weekend w/ my family. I usually don’t go home because of the busy weekend workout schedule I have AND mostly b/c a mexican household has a PLETHORA of seriously FATTENING , carb INFESTED foods. So delish, yet so evil and tempting. Plus, mexican families will take it personally if you reject their food, my mom will bow down her head w/ sadness when I pass up her spanish rice! Anyway, as every week passes, she notices what I’m working for and the major changes that my body is taking. She’s slowly coming into terms and accepting , which is very important to me. It’s extremely challenging to go into this alone. Anyway, the weekend was incredibly relaxing… pj’s , manicures, long hot showers and long runs (my parents live across Midway airport! perfect running path!). The Memorial Day weekend was exactly everything it should have been. Oh and as far as eating goes, Sunday nite was my carb meal (instead of cheats , I have carb cycles). That said, I was with my folks this weekend and that carb meal was more like a carb FIESTA! I’m not beating myself over it, I had some substitutions…instead of 4 oz sweet potato , I had an extra half cup of old fashioned oatmeal and instead of two tbsp of pbutter, I had a ….JAR. I know, really effn bad, lol. But I deserved it and really, I look more fuller, my muscles needed that sugar. My veins were so POPPIN’ today, my back workout today was a bit OVER vascular! lol
Anway, this weekend was memorable. I will attempt to visit my family more often and practice that will power, I am, after all , a world class athlete. I DO possess thy qualities, so for the next four weeks, watch me GROW and transform, once again. JenCan just filled her emotional tank with lots of love this weekend(and peanut butter). p.s. Has anyone researched why us fitness aficionados/as love the peanut butter sooooo much?!?!?!? Really creepy obsession.
