Online Dating–a non fitness blog…

My 10 year old daughter suggested that I try online dating. She said her friend’s mother does it all the time. Initially I said no, there’s nothing but freaks & weirdo’s out there in cyberspace and they lie about everything. However, on impulse I decided to give it a shot and posted a profile on Fri. After going thru several "flirts", "winks" and emails, I finally me a bodybuilder who lives in Fla. Not someone to date, due to the distance, but seems like a good contact.

Online dating in principle is a great idea in theory, b/c most of us, especially single parents, don’t have a lot of time to meet people outside of work and family related activities.  Well, I terminated my membership after 3 days, but have 27 days remaining so I’ll try to make the best of it. These folks are really quite comical, in ways they probably never intended.

If you have any online stories/horrors/success, please share, I’d love to hear.

I am not single, but I would think you would meet some nice like minded people on here. There are a few to be ignored, for certain, but mostly pretty good folks. And, they would appreciate fitness like you ? no?

What’s the difference between meeting someone face to face somewhere and meeting them online? The risks are basically the same if you think about it.

I say get with the times and go for it :D

Oh girl, I could go on for hours regaling you with stories from my online dating experiences! lol BUT, I actually did meet my hubby on a dating site and we have been married for 5 years and we are more in love now than ever. So it can work! But I went through a lot of freaks (mostly through e-mail, because I actually only went on a few ‘in-person’ dates after weeding out the riff-raff)!

I think everyone turns their nose up at it at first but its kinda common now. I thought I was way too cool for it but have met a lot of great girls now online. Stick to the mainstream sites, match, jdate, singlesnet and you might find some cool people. Ask for recent pics, I here the older the men the more they lie about height and weight!
