Planning for Success

Planning for Success
I’ve been working with my trainer for approximately six weeks. I’ve lost about 12/13 pounds and 4 inches. I’m still not at goal, but pleased with the progress. I read an article about planning your menu and taking food with you. I’m traveling to Ohio to see my folks for the holidays. It’s about a 5 1/2 hour drive and there’s nothing but junk in terms of highway food. Therefore, I’m going to prepare my food in advance and take it with me. Additionally, my mom and I are cooking most of the Christmas dinner and I have suggested a few healthy menu changes (e.g. baked yams instead of candied yams). I will sample some of my favorites such as mac and cheese and a little pound cake. I’ll be back on the program the next day and schedule a couple work outs at the gym while there. When I first began this journey, I didn’t believe I could change my eating habits; working out is easy, but I love to eat. However, I have to eat right to live well. Some days are easier than others, but I’m on a journey to optimum fitness.

Enjoy the holidays!

Here’s a little cheer for you:
