LEG APPROACH
So as a natural bodybuilder, you somewhat become a body analyst as well as a scientist for yourself. In my theory for far too long i have been maliciously breaking down my legs and not really producing the results i need. The size of them is overwhelming, but now i need to fine tune. So my new approach is no different than what i do with my upper body! This time i am going to primarily focus on hamstrings and glutes and then rest for 72 hours and hit my quads, but both with calves. In essence, this is going to produce a more solid and shredded look, it would be no different than hitting chest, and then waiting to hit shoulders another day. The effects will be purely anabolic instead of catabolic! I cant wait to see what happens in the next 7 weeks!

I’d say this is logical Dr. X. You make an interesting point at giving as much attention below to detail/fine tuning as the upper body. And yes to have enormous legs is one thing, but to also have legs that are balanced, well-defined and symmetrical is really what separates the average bodybuilders from the great bodybuilders. It will be interesting to see how this change will affect you. Keep us posted on how it goes and what tweaks you have to do along the way. -T

Hey, hey!….sounds just like the "old skool" style training I used to do for legs……did the split and had tremendous results with it. On quad day I focused mainly on heavy squats, leg press and leg extensions. On glute day I focused on heavy straight-leg deadlifts, leg curls, and sumo-style squats with the feet placed way out front, with either one-leg squats or weighted lunges thrown in.

How has this approach of training legs fared for you vice a total leg day of hams/quads together? which do you prefer?
