Gas problems

Should I expect Gas from a high protein powder as normal?  I always have but recently somebody told me it means its protein that my body isn’t using and I’m not drinking enough water if I have Gas all the time.  The Gas is to a point I had to cut back on my intake because it was effecting everywhere I went.  My protein intake at the time was in the 200s with a body weight of 175.  I was cutting a bit so I had little to no carbs at the time.  Any ideas?

You should be restricting use of protein powders to less than 30% of your total protein intake. Protein powders often have lactos in them.

Thanks.. I actually rarely use protein powder. I get my protein from chicken, peanut butter, and nuts..
