I miss the blogs…

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

It’s been a little bit since I’ve blogged.  Still haven’t missed a work out, but gotta admit.. I stopped keeping my meals so consistent.  My trainer saw my muscle potential was being hindered and told me I had a choice.  Either I eat..eat.. and eat for muscle.. or eat to get lean maybe even dropping some weight.

Honestly, I have to admit something to those reading this..  I kinda want to shape up.. trim down a bit… and then have a pro photo guy take some shots of me on the beach.. I’d like my kids 30 years from now to see me now.  I wonder sometimes if that’s weird..

I’ve found my body fat dropping.. but ever so slowly.  I began eating more and saw much more muscle progress, but I’m pretty sure I may have increased body fat by a percentage or so.

Oh.. old but new news… my trainer?  Yeah, my roommate now.  Both turned out we could help each other and in addition to cheap rent he gives me 4 sessions free a month.

I’m tossed up.. I wanted to cut for the summer, but I started it too late in the year and haven’t gained the muscle I want yet…

Think it’s possible to eat just enough to max out my potential yet cut back the fat % drastically?

Circuit o Vomit?

Monday, May 5th, 2008

That’s what he called it.. said my body needed something different than the norm.  "Your gonna hate me today," he said. Decline situps, to squats, to bench, to pull ups, to curls, to MP, to Donkey kicks, to leg lifts.. one circuit at 15 reps a piece with no break.  "I’m going to test your endurance and cardio strength today."

After two round with about a 5 to 7 minutes break between the two I was finished.. He would have put me through one more, but said it didn’t look like I was ready for it.. too bad.. I’m so glad! I loved it, but this time I hated it.

All worth it when it’s over.

Check out my last blog ‘another two miles’

Am I doing HIIT training without realizing it?

Another 2 miles

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

I think I maintained a sub 7 today.  Althought I can’t maintain that for the entire two miles I go until I can’t and then try to get two more blocks before I slow to a crawling pace.  I must have sprinted at least a mile of it when I was done.  19 minutes with a few walking sessions to let my heart rate calm a bit.  Some slow jogs to do the same but keep the pace up.  I’m going to try to get a 14 minute 2 mile run in 4 weeks.  I hope that’s not unrealistic.  I do this for the stamina, but it’s also my cardio to help my body fat % decline while not hindering my progress!

Can’t sleep

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

Too much on my mind.. Kind of freaking out about this whole 4 months worth of savings thing.. need to get a paying job soon.. something to stretch my savings out.  My instructor gig is all for experience and no pay for now.  Since there’s no solid date to when the school may get promoted I can’t wait, just train.

It’s 1230am.. many people out there have so many better things to do, but I figured.. if your reading this chances are your up late too! Maybe even later than me.

Here’s a thought.. if I eat well and lift right.. what would be normal for weight gain.. I was once told about 10lbs a year if I do it right.  I’m two months into a solid routine and I’m staying at 172lb… however, my fat% is decreasing and if my scale wasn’t wrong it’s averaging about 1% lower than last month.

That means.. less fat and more muscle in order to stay the same.. but seriously.. I’d like to top out at 180 and maintain.  How long should I expect? My fitness level has always been high, but since I’ve hired a trainer it’s been taken to a whole new level. Anybody?
