I’ve decided to write about my experience with Cold Fusion EX. I’m not a pro body builder and my diet (while generally pretty solid) is still in the process of being tweeked.
The first package came yesterday. It was buy one get one free from Bodybuilding.com. ColdFusion is a Nitric Oxide/Creatine Complex. The product makes some pretty strong claims and I’ll try to be the most realistic that I can.
ColdFusion claims to give you size and strength gains that surpass any other product on the market today. It’s designed to "pack on muscular size, while skyrocketing your strength with even the first scoop." It also claims "to "increase stamina and energy, while providing for lightening fast recovery between workouts, so it is perfect for both body builders and athletes…"
My workouts are strong and designed for strength with some body building thrown in the mix to help look the part that I want. My personal trainer doesn’t keep track of reps or how much weight I can bench or squat. His goal is to get high reps of high weight so that stamina and endurance are also a part of my strength plan. The weights vary each work out, but no muscle group is left before reaching beyound muscle failure.
My diet is 4 to 5 meals a day consisting of whole foods and a calorie intake goal of 2500. I do not keep track of my ratios, but make sure I’m getting around 150g of protein a day and more carbs than that.
My workout was scheduled for 3pm and I took my frist serving (two scoops) at 220pm.
Directions say to take 2 to 3 scoops 30 to 40 minutes prior to workingout on an empty stomach.
"While each person is different you should begin to feel the results of Cold Fusion EX within 10 to 15 minutes. While not every person will experience it, for most people you will feel the tingle that tells you Cold Fusion EX is hard at work pushing you past your platezus and to new levels of size and strength."
The tingle took about 20 minutes to start and was fully in effect within a half hour. The tingle sensation was weird and uncomfortable. It didn’t feel so much like a tingle as it did hundreds of tiny needles poking my skin all over my body. I first felt it in my scalp and it into my hands and fingers.
By the time I was at the gym I wanted it to go away! I started my workout at the Squat machine. I was begining to fear that the tingle would effect my workout, but after a few warm up sets I found that I was not running out of energy.
After 4 sets to failure I was amazed that I had not only pushed a couple extra reps out after reaching what my body had told me was faliure, but I wanted to keep pushing it. My muscles were tired, but for was not out of energy by any means.
I then moved to a 3 excercise circuit. Starting with the hack squat to failure, then straight to leg lifts to failure, and to the donkey kicks (I loath this machine) to failure. The lactic acid build up generally gets me before the muscle failure does, but this time I was able to push past the burn.
The burn seemed to prolonge itself and while it was still coming on strong the intensity was slightly delayed. I finished the donkey kicks and rested trying not to throw up on my trainers floor. What I did notice is that I still had energy even though my legs wouldn’t stand on their own for half a minute or so.
Additionally, I was still mentally ready to go!
I finished my legs and moved to bicepts. I was disappointed in the lack of pump that I saw. Cold Fusion claims "Amazing pumps" but I won’t make that official for me yet. I work my arms on Mondays and only did a light one yesterday.
My legs were rock solid and felt huge within the gym pants I was wearing, but I’ll wait till tomorrow to really see the upperbody pumps.
To end the day I walked out of gym after a good workout… but still felt full of energy.
The mental focus this gave was great. The tingle, I hated. The endurance appeared to be increased. And the recovery times between sets seemed to inrease as well. I think one day is hard to determine the product, but it has promises.
