Resting again

I am resting until tomorrow.  I had a tough week at work.  I had to train another guy from one of our locations. I did my work plus trained him, and I got a bit stressed.

**** Reality check ****

I was getting a bit lackadaisical on my diet, because everyone was telling me how good I looked.  I thought I had reached my goal, but I have not.  I am not one to look in the mirror at myself, but I did last night.  I am far from the shape that I thought I was in.  Reality hit me in the face.

I have lost fifty + pounds, I look much better, I am much stronger, I am much healthier, but I am not at the goal that I set for myself.  I want a strong lean body that I like.  My wife already loves me for me, I just want to do this for myself. I will get there.

I had a decent workout tonight.  I started with barbell bench press (225 x 5 max), then incline barbell press, dumbell chest flyes, and finally max reps on the hammer machine till exhaustion.

37 minutes on the elliptical (burning 560 calories)

Leg day

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

I had a good workout today.  I did 5 sets of leg extensions, 7 sets of leg presses, 5 sets of leg curls, 5 sets on lower back machine, 150 crunches, and 10 minutes in the sauna.  When I got home, I had my protein drink, two wheat bread ham subs, sun chips, my vitamins, and a big cup of skim milk.  Burp.

TGIF

I had one of the best bicep workouts that I have ever had.  I stayed light, but did more reps.  It works.  I also went light on my triceps, but I didn’t feel quite the same about that.  I think my tri’s need heavy weight to respond.

I did 120 crunches, 37 minutes on the elliptical with my heart rate at a steady 120 (that is supposed to be my optimal rate for fat burning), and 10 minutes in the sauna.

Thursday

I had a good shoulder workout.  I did 5 sets of shoulder presses with dumbells, then I did 5 (light) sets on the shoulder press machine.  I also did some light sets of toning shoulder exercises.

I did 30 miuntes on the elliptical tonight, and 5 minutes in the hot sauna.

REST DAY

I had a strong back workout yesterday, but today is rest day.

I weighed this morning, and lost some of the weight I had gained during my STRESS ordeal.  I am not doing anything tonight, except clean the house.

Surprisingly good chest day…

I did have a good workout tonight, even though I had done legs Sunday.  I started with dumbell presses tonight, then incline barbell presses, machine flyes, and pullovers.

I also did 40 minutes on the elliptical (burning 600+ calories).

New workout regime

I started my new workout routine today.  I am beginning with legs since they are the most grueling workout for me.  I did have a good workout, but I hope I still have a good chest workout tomorrow.  I did 100 crunches and got in the sauna for 10 minutes.
