I did it! LOL. I completed the dumbbell total body workout and even took some pics during for progress photos. The only thing I didn’t complete was the abs exercises. I was only able to do 9 out of 2 sets of 15; but I’m going to keep on working. My abs have always been the hardest part of my body to train. I do however have about an 8 pack separation when they are developed. I’m tryin to get back to that, so I’m gonna train abs tomorrow.

I have been feeling bad all day. I went to the doctor and he put me on some allergy medication that I was having bad side effects from. But the more I think about working out, the better I feel. So, I’m going to do it because working out often makes me feel better; getting all the poisons out of my system.

I got up this morning and walked for a mile for cardio. (I am building myself up to do my 5 mile runs again). I then did a combination shoulder & chest workout. I am struggling with exercising at home right now because I live in a city that has problems with gyms; mainly location and facilities. I think I’ll start doing pushups on Monday to enhance my workouts. I can’t wait to get into a gym full-time though and really start packing on the muscle; but first things first. This is the start. I am not going to get ahead of myself or try to move too fast because I tend to get disappointed and lose sight of the ultimate goal. So, I’m moving smooth and steady in my workouts to reach my goals. I really feel good now that I have made my health and fitness a priority.

I feel great! I have been working out for some time seriously. I just needed to stop making excuses for not striving to be my best. This seems to be a trend with me lately. I find myself faced with a lot of stress from work as well as other areas of my life… working out makes it better. I was only able to do a short upper body workout today. I have also been doing abs daily. Working out will also help me in other areas. I know being in my best shape will help me when I take the bar exam this summer. I hope to have lost at least 20 pounds of fat by then (July 2009) and gained significant muscle mass. Wish me luck. These are the first steps for me to seriously bodybuild.

I thought I would post a blog today. I am working out again after a break. It’s like something in my head just snapped to let me know that now is the time to be serious about my goals. The new year symbolizes new beginnings to so many… and I don’t want my new year to be one of "renewed" procrastination; so, I’ve started again.

I managed to get some cardio in today. But, I was really tired. I’m going to do lower body workouts after class.

Been working out better than before. I got the bright idea to use my barbell and 40 pounds in weight plates I have at home to help increase my workout time (lol… what took me so long). I know that this will help me to achieve better results because I can work more muscle areas. Look for more on progress…

I couldn’t believe that I lost 5 pounds over Thanksgiving. I have to say that I have changed my diet and eating habits considerably. So, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. I am also working out more regularly (still not exactly like I should - but making progress). Plus, my body is starting to look more muscular. This gives me new motivation to lose more weight and develop more muscle.

I had to go to court today to try a case and woke up at 4:15. I was fully awake so I went to the gym to use the elliptical machine. I did cardio on there for 25 minutes and then switched to weights. (See Workout Tracker) I really feel good about getting back to working out like I should. I may go back this evening if I feel up to it.
