High muscle enzyme levels can be dangerous? Protein overkill.
Greetings, this is my first blog. I wanted to know has anybody been through this?
I was diagnosed with near kidney failure within the last 7 months. What caused me to go to get it checked out was the fact that my toe nails were turning orange. I was given a blood test which stated that my CPK levels, as well as my CReatinine levels were off the meter. Causing my kidneys to began to fail. The doctor asked what was I taking and advising me to get off all supplements until further notice. My CPK levels are for a normal human being a two digit number, mine was 4 digits, my creatine level was also a high number due to the fact that i take supplemental creatine.
The CPK level is the muscle enzyme level or the enzymes that the muscle produces due to stress, (ie lifting excessive weight without enough healing or rest time time) or what we call lactid acid. Also, I had excessive amounts of protien in my urine, where it was becoming toxic to my kidneys. causing them to begin to fail. As long as i kept lifting my muscles would never heal or grow.
Now this just didn’t happen overnight, it happend over a spand of 15 years of natural bodybuilding (if you thought other wise). I wondered if any one had ever known of such an occurance to anyone? Or has gone throught it.
I am currently out of the gym for a long while and possibly out of work due to the fact that i have a strenous job, while my body heals itself. so i can return to the gym eventually.
